In case you didn’t know, Fathers Day is coming fast and unless you’ve been thinking of gift ideas, you might end up getting Dad the same old gift card to his favorite restaurant and that’s super lame!
Instead, you should working to get him the perfect, unique gift that you’ve never given him before. But it’s hard to come up with new ideas isn’t it? Well, you’re in luck because in today’s post, I am going to give you ten ideas outside the traditional gift card. So make this the best Father’s Day ever by getting your Dad one of the items below.
The Latest and Greatest Tool
I don’t know many men who don’t need tools. Even if your Dad isn’t into construction or building things, he will always need some good tools to help with things around the house. I saw this new tool (Craftsman Max Axess Locking Wrench) on the TV the other night and this is what I want for Father’s Day.
Ideal for sports lovers, sports memorabilia is a killer gift for Dad. When people think of sports memorabilia, they often think of signed baseballs and jerseys that can be purchased on eBay for a premium, hence the reason not many Dads get gifts like this, ever! I recently found a website that prints replica Sports Illustrated covers (SICovers.com) and frames them up real nice for a reasonable price. I think this is what I’m getting my Dad this year.
Round of Golf
Nothing says I love you more than a round of golf for your Dad. Get him a gift certificate for 18 holes, a punch card for the driving range, and a golf cart rental and he will be just tickled pink. Need help finding a golf course, check out GolfLink.com.
Summer is upon us and that means it’s time for outdoor activities. New camping gear always goes over well as a gift, especially if the gear is the latest and greatest technology.
Maybe not the most unique gift idea in the world, but getting Dad a new tie is a fantastic gift idea. If your Dad is like me, he probably has 2-3 ties that he swaps out on a regular basis and it’s time for something new and fresh. You can always find ties at great prices at Overstock.com or the local Ross or TJ Maxx.
Just like a new tie, new shoes are always a great idea. If Dad is a business professional, you might consider getting him a new pair of dress shoes or for regular day usage, new flip flops, Sanuks, or athletic shoes are always a hit. You can find great deals on shoes at Zappos.
Tickets To A Sporting Event
If Dad likes sports and you have a professional team in the near vicinity, tickets to a sporting event tend to go over really well when received as a gift. If you choose to go this route, make sure to get a second ticket so he can bring a best friend or one of his children (hopefully you).
Also for business or regular use, polos are always received well by Dad on Father’s Day. If you haven’t been polo shopping recently, Under Armour and Nike produce some really awesome, sweat wicking polos that look good with jeans or dress slacks.
Does Dad love grilling in the summer? If so, maybe it’s time to get him a new barbecue. Barbecues these days run on propane or natural gas and are quite affordable if you can find them on sale.
Night Out With Mom
Lastly, and probably your best option, is to treat both Mom and Dad out to a night on the town. For Father’s Day this year, you should get Dad a gift certificate to the movies (including drinks and popcorn vouchers) and a gift certificate to their favorite restaurant. Not only will Dad love you, but Mom will, which is what counts more.
