COMMENTARY – It’s never too early to start your holiday shopping, especially if you’re shopping for a Chicago Bulls fan. The Bulls will be a sight to see this season and you can help represent their efforts this year. Here are 10 gifts ideas for the Bulls fan in your life that are not the typical t-shirt and hat. Get them before they’re gone.
1. Stressball
Derrick Rose has stated that he has fully recovered from his ACL injury. Whether that be the case or not, Rose’s reckless play is sure to worry everyone. Seeing him crash to the floor, hobble after a play, or sit out a game or two is sure to have any fan wondering what is really going on. Supporting the second coming of his Airness can be stressful.
2. Tissue
At the end of the day, the NBA is still a business. As the Chicago Bulls contend for another championship, the fans have to live with the situation surrounding Luol Deng. He has stated that he will test his free agency in 2014 and because of Chicago’s salary cap issue, it is likely that he will not return. A sad sight to see.
3. Hard hat and lunch pale
You could let your toddler show support for their favorite player by sporting their jersey, or you could demonstrate what they represent. Your toddler will more often than not get confused for a construction worker, but the equipment demonstrates the hard work of Taj Gibson.
4. Hair Clippers
Fads and trends come and go, much like the short shorts of the ’80s and afros of the ’70s and Jimmy Butler’s haircut is definitely in. Help your Chicago crazed friend sport the look of one of the league’s developing SGs. Heck, I’d try it if I had the hair for it. Don’t miss the latest trend.
5. Spray-on Hair
Help an elder in your life or a friend losing their hair. Spray-on hair will make your granddad look 20 years younger or covering up your friend’s bald spot. It is cry durable and you can even sweat in it, heck ask Carlos Boozer.
6. Speedometer
The return of Derrick Rose will call for some exciting plays and exciting run-outs. Partnered with Jimmy Butler, the dynamic guard duo could become the league’s deadliest two-man team on the fastbreak. Rose to Butler or Butler to Rose, it’ll all seem as a blur. We may need to start issuing speeding tickets in the United Center.
7. Abacus
Talking is apart of the game; whether to the opposition, officials, coaches, or teammates. However, Carlos Boozer has taken it to a new level. He often yells to whoever will listen when missing out on a rebound or flailing to the basket. Count how many times you hear Boozer unnecessarily yelling. I’m willing to bet it is more than his number of rebounds that night.
8. Hearing aid
Coach Tom Thibodeau has one volume: loud. Whether to drill his players on a blown assignment, compliment them on good ball movement, or simply speaking to the media, Coach T does not know what it means to tone it down. If you’re following the Chicago Bulls all season, a hearing aid may be the unfortunate result of your support.
9. D. Rose 4.0
Take your favorite athlete to the court with a pair of the newly released D. Rose 4.0 sneakers. The lightweight material should allow you to easily get off the ground and glide around the court. Who, knows, there may be magic in the shoes.
10. Bottles of Champagne
If you’re still here through a stressful season, you will reap the biggest of rewards. A few bottle of the finest champagne is the best way to celebrate banner No. 7 and the start of a new dynasty. The Chicago Bulls fought hard and the celebration begins.
