Okay goblins, Halloween is in a couple of weeks, and Haunted Trails and Houses in Upstate South Carolina are open and ready to scare the pants off you! If you are brave enough to enter these “terror” houses and trails, the following is a list of the best ones in the Upstate South Carolina!
The Boneyard: Trail of Terror (Wellford, SC)
The name of this trail should give you a clue that you need to collect yourself and have a healthy heart before heading down this trail, where your wildest nightmares will come true! Be prepared to hear, taste, and feel fear as you enter complete darkness and face horror scenes complete with blood and gore. The Trail of Terror will have you running for your life! Trail of Terror is rated one of the best-haunted trails in the Upstate! It has been open for nine years now and is still running strong! Pay to get in, and pray to get out!
Wompus Woods: (Cowpens, SC)
Enter Wompus Woods trail at your own risk. The legend of the beast (Wompus) can be read at the link above. Not being caught as of present, the Wompus still roams the woods in Cowpens. Take a group of friends with you to this horrifying trail. Trust me; you do not want to go alone! Go on over to Wompus Woods and let them scare the devil out of you!
Trail of Fears: (Inman, SC)
The Trail of Fears is comprised of small tunnels and mazes. If you are claustrophobic, you may not want to attempt this trail. The openings of the tunnels are only 3 feet in width! As you travel through the tunnels, you will encounter the bizarre accounts of Gerald Duke and his family of misfits. You will experience a twisted culture like the one you have never seen before! Tour the Trail of Fears and realize that fear is more than just emotion.
Ghost Tours Presented by Main Street Trolley: (Spartanburg, SC)
If you have never been on a Halloween ghost tour of haunted places in Spartanburg, South Carolina, it is a fun thing to do with family and friends. You embark on the ghost ride in a 1920’s signature blue and white trolley. The haunted tours hosted by paranormal experts who actually know the background of locations that have are haunted in the city of downtown Spartanburg. The trolley Departs at 6:45 and again at 8:00 each evening from October 1 through October 31. Reservations are required.
