I’ve been playing ‘Injustice: Gods Among Us’ for several months now on my iPhone 5 and think it’s hands down the best free mobile game out there. NetherRealm Studios and Warner Brothers combined to develop and publish this DC Universe fighting game and the results have been spectacular. New characters are periodically released in the game that must be unlocked by completing ‘Challenges’. This week, just in time for Halloween 2013, the latest character to be released is ‘Blackest Night’ Batman. Here are 3 reasons why this latest gold level character is a must have in your top tier of fighters:
Strength and Health Ratings
Starting at level 1 ‘Blackest Night’ Batman roars out of the gate with a beefy 1,000 strength value and a respectable 800 health value. To date this is the highest strength value that any character starts off with and grows quickly as you level up. The ‘Blackest Night’ Batman character also has a special bonus of ‘Night Strength’ that allows him to deal out an extra +20% damage if you play the game between midnight and sunrise.
I’ve always enjoyed the attention to detail and variety of skins available to the characters in ‘Injustice: Gods Among Us’. To me this is one of the main draws of the game and keeps me coming back for more. ‘Blackest Night’ Batman continues the tradition with the top notch look and feel of the skin. If you are not familiar with the source material that this character is based on I won’t ruin it for you here, but I definitely recommend catching up on the comic book story arc. Details of this popular comic book story can be found over at the DC Comics Wiki page.
‘Blackest Night’ Batman sports three different special attacks that can be used to completely subdue an opponent. Just like the regular flavor Batman character, ‘Blackest Night’ Batman can use the ‘Explosive Batarang’ and ‘The Dark Knight’ attacks. However, unique to this character, is the ‘Necrotic Energy’ attack that is just devastating even against stronger opponents. This one of a kind move boasts a series of brutal kicks, spins and punches described in the game as “fueled by the dark power of Undeath”.
I’ve only had the ‘Blackest Night’ Batman skin for a couple of days, but he is quickly becoming one of my most powerful and enjoyable characters to play. His raw power, savage attacks and well rendered skin makes ‘Blackest Night’ Batman a serious force to be reckoned with inside the game and a must have for any serious ‘Injustice: Gods Among Us’ player.
