4 Anti-Virus Apps to Protect Your Android Device

by fat vox

If you own an Android device, you most likely want to keep it as secure as possible. Although the Android operating system is already pretty secure on its own, there are still a few security issues and malware that can severely affect your Android device. In order to fully protect your Android device form these threats you need to install an anti-virus app.

There is a plethora of anti-virus apps available for Android. However, many of these either simply do not do their job well or even end up making things worse. That is why I have compiled this list of four anti-virus apps you can use to protect your Android device.

Lookout Security & Antivirus Premium
Lookout is a great anti-virus app if nothing other than it is completely mobile and has been designed that way since the very beginning. The user interface is simple, intuitive, and very mobile-friendly.

Lookout also stays very much on top of the latest security threats and malware that could affect Android systems and will actively update to defend against them.

avast! Mobile Security & Antivirus
Not only is avast! a really good anti-virus app, but it also includes a plethora of other features to help protect your Android device.

avast! includes a virus scanner, web protection, tons of handy SMS commands, remote lock, and much more. If you’re looking for an anti-virus app that can not only protect your Android device from malware but is also a great anti-theft app, then avast! is perfect.

Bitdefender Mobile Security and Antivirus
Bitdefender is unique in that it uses a cloud-based scanner and allows you to access it through 3rd-party means. However, what Bitdefender is most notable for is how quickly it can scan your entire Android device.

A typical virus scan using Bitdefender only takes a few seconds, unlike many other anti-virus apps which can take upwards of ten minutes or more.

Kaspersky Mobile Security
Kaspersky anti-virus is already pretty well known in the PC world, and now you can have it on your Android device as well.

Kaspersky Mobile Security gives top-notch defense against malware along with many handy anti-theft features and SMS commands. You can even perform a remote data wipe in the event that your Android device is stolen and you don’t want the thief to be able to get their hands on any sensitive information.

Kaspersky Mobile Security also has a very streamlined interface that makes it a lot easier to use than many other anti-virus apps.
