I love watching crime based television, and can’t get enough of the anti-hero characters in some of the new dramas. Lawyers, guns, money and drugs make good entertainment. And I’m sure you all can’t get enough of such shows. So I decided to compile a list of the five most badass TV show characters of the new millenium. If you disagree or want to add anybody else, please comment!
1, Walter White
Walter White’s story in Breaking Bad is truly unforgettable. At the beginning of the show, he seems like a man just blindly walking through his days. Then he finds out he has terminal lung cancer and becomes “Heisenberg”, a meth cook who builds an empire! Who can forget how he took out Gus Fring in the nursing home bombing or how he killed Todd and his uncle’s crew with an M60 machine gun in the series finale? That’s just badass.
2. Tony Soprano
Bullish, conniving, and downright violent, nothing gets in Tony Soprano’s way throughout the series of the Sopranos. He goes through numerous affairs, survives numerous attacks on his life, including a shot in his stomach from his demented uncle, and a tallies eight murders during the drama. He was a dude nobody dared to mess with. And if you crossed him, only death awaited.
3. Dexter Morgan
Dexter lived a secret double life most of the show, murdering murderers on the side and doing blood anaylsis as his day job. You can’t even begin to count how many people he wasted during the TV’s lifespan on Showtime. Perhaps his wit made him all the more badass. Each year he someone managed to escape out of seemingly inescable jams. I doubt we ever see another character like him in drama.
4. Nancy Botwin
The only lady on the list is, in my opinion, TV’s most badass woman. By the end of the series, she had navigated and connived her way through numerous gangs, the Mexican cartel, and various federal agencies to become the owner of a legit marijuana empire. Her mixture of charisma, fortitude, good looks, and luck helped her push her way to the top. And she became a gal you shouldn’t mess with by the end of the show.
5. Jax Teller
Jax Teller is a reflective character who uses a combination of strategy and violence to ascend to the top. Who can forget how he played Agent Stahl for a fool in the third season? In season five, Jax takes over as president and quickly becomes a force to be wreckon with. How he framed Clay for the murder of drug kingpin Damon Pope was truly classic, and somewhat unexpected. His intelligence and dominant persona combine to make him one of TV’s scariest and toughest characters.
