You probably haven’t seen much of your cellulite this winter because it’s probably been covered up and for good reason, it has been cold. But now that spring is here, its time to get rid of that cellulite and get that booty back into shape for bikini season.
Cellulite is that not-so-attractive bumpy and crater-like texture that a lot of women have on their booty and thighs. It can really happen just about anywhere on the body but the most common areas for a woman are on the backside, simply because of the placement of the muscle and tissue on the butt and thighs. Because of this, getting rid of cellulite completely or for good is not really possible. However, reducing the severity or visibility of cellulite totally is.
Some really simple tips to get you started this spring:
Drink plenty of water. Water is super-important for flushing the toxins from your body and when used in combination with the other tips, will also help in reducing and preventing excessive cellulite. Drinking plenty of water is also important for keeping skin healthy and properly functioning. Get yourself a water bottle that you enjoy looking at and drinking from – you’ll be more likely to take it with you and use it.
Watch your sodium intake. Taking in excessive amounts of sodium is not only unhealthy for other parts of your body, but it can also make cellulite worse by allowing skin to retain more water. Before you add salt to your food, taste it. You might find that you don’t actually need as much as you think for it to taste good.
Get some exercise. Exercising regularly can greatly improve the appearance of cellulite for most people. Try activities like elliptical machines, steppers, running, yoga, Pilates, and even weight training. If you need a little motivation, try and find a friend to work out with you or download a “fitness pal” on your iPhone. There are a lot of great apps like MyFitnessPal where you can learn, track, and stay focused.
Ever tried cupping? Cupping has been used for hundreds of years to relieve pain, help circulation, and promote regularity, and it works great for reducing the appearance of cellulite too. It works better than massage because cupping can stimulate the tissue far deeper than massage alone. Cupping can also been used to help carry lymphatic fluid to the proper areas to drain quicker from the body. Just a few minutes with the cups each day and you can see a noticeable difference. Try the professional cups from Bellabaci. They are by far the best I’ve ever used and mine have lasted for years.
Get some color. For lighter skinned women, cellulite can be even more noticeable. The good news is that getting a little bit of color can sometimes conceal that stubborn cellulite. Rather than damaging skin by sitting in the sun, try a product like the self-tan towelettes from TanTowel. They do an amazing job of giving the skin a nice natural glow and moisturizing skin at the same time.
