8. Moonlight (2007-2008)
Created by: Ron Koslow (Beauty and the Beast)
Trevor Munson
Stars: Alex O’Loughlin (Hawaii Five-O)
Sophia Myles (Triston + Isolde)
Plot: The show’s about Mick St.John( Alex O’Loughlin) a private eye with a big secret. Mick’s a vampire trying to deal with his friendship to a fellow undead, Memories of his ex-wife who created him and a new relationship with a human named Beth (Sophia Myles).
Why I liked it: People hear vampire and for some reason it turns them off to show almost immediately. I don’t understand why though, this show is done really well. I stumbled upon the show by accident when flipping through the channels at a hotel and I gave it a chance. Next thing I know I’d watched a whole marathon of it and I wanted more. That’s when I found out it was already cancelled and on DVD. The show has a great storyline for a plot that seems a little campy. There’s something nice about the minimalistic effects they use for the vampires. Sometimes shows and movies go too far with the vampire effects and it takes away from everything. It’s a cool show to check out if you’re into supernatural beings and mystery.
Where are they now?:
Alex O’Loughlin went on to star in the TV show Hawaii Five-0.
Sophia Myles is rumored to be in the upcoming movie Transformers 4.
Ron Koslow went on to create Beauty and the Beast which is on the CW.

Plot: On his 21st birthday, Sam (Bret Harrison), finds out that his parents sold his soul to the devil before birth and now he must be a bounty hunter chasing souls until he dies.
Why I liked it: First off the plot was great and the idea to make it a comedy was even better. The cast was great even though I had never seen them act in anything before. This is one of those shows that I didn’t get tired of no matter how much I was watching it. I could see this show being cool as a movie.

Why I liked it: This is another show that I stumbled on by mistake. At first I wasn’t sure if I was watching a show or a movie because I caught it mid episode. I was able to find all the episodes and get caught up just to find out the show was over. I was already a fan of most of the cast from other movies and shows so that was one reason I was watching. Why I liked it: Heroes was an awesome show about superheroes. I got into the show a little late but I’m glad I got into it at all. It’s one of the coolest shows about superheroes that ever made it onto TV. The story left you wanting more and more after every episode. This was a show that you could marathon trough without even thinking about taking a break. Plot: A group of aliens crash land in Roswell, New Mexico and have been living amongst the humans. They are following the destiny of their dying race who they hope to save.
Why I Like It: This show has a sort of teen drama feel to it, but despite that I like it anyway. Roswell came out at the end of the nineties and still had that awesome nineties vibe to it. Why I Liked It: I’m a big Joss Whedon fan so I try to check out anything that he’s produced. I’m also a pretty big Sci-Fi fan so this was a no brainer. You couldn’t really ask for more in a Sci-Fi adventure show. It had cool characters, a great story and awesome ships and planets. Although after the show was cancelled they did make a movie called Serenity, I still wanted more.

Why I Like It: I’m at the age where I could relate to the characters and the experiences, so for me it’s a bit more likeable. Being that it’s done by Judd Apatow you know you’re in for a few laughs. The show nails college life perfectly. Also if you haven’t seen this show before you’ll recognize a lot of the faces from current Apatow productions.

Martin Starr (Knocked Up)
Plot: TV show about two groups of teens in high school during the 1980’s.
Why I Liked It: This show was way too short lived for my liking. It was one of those shows that nailed the feeling of being in a certain “click” in high school. The show was also funny and yet had some drama mixed into it. It could have been a great story to play out for a few seasons. It would have been cool to see the characters progress a little bit more.
