I am an extreme beach bum that loves the sunshine, but on super hot days when the heat from the sun is a bit too much, I find using a homemade cooling body splash helps cool me down wonderfully. Making a homemade cooling body splash is super easy and fun to do and best of all you will love using it when you are sweating endlessly on a hot muggy day.
Useful Ingredients Needed
The ingredients I find useful for making the homemade cooling body splash are three cups of chilled freshly brewed green tea, one cup of chilled freshly brewed mint tea, five drops of menthol essential oil, three drops each of peppermint and spearmint oils and five drops of rosemary oil. To find the ingredients to make the cooling body splash just find your local herb shop or whole food grocery store in your area. For me I always have these ingredients on hand because I am a serious tea drinker and I am always using essential oils to make bath soaks and other homemade cosmetic products.
The Reasons the Ingredients are Used
The reason why I use the ingredient I do is because mint naturally contains menthol, which provides a cooling, yet refreshing sensation when it meets the skin. Green tea is used because it contains antioxidants, caffeine, vitamins and minerals, which are nourishing to the skin. The essential oils are used because they also contain antioxidants that help protect and nourish the skin on a hot sunny day. In addition, the ingredients have a wonderful way of hydrating and brightening the skin up to give it a healthy summer glow, which everyone enjoys to have in the summertime.
Making the Cooling Body Splash
Making the cooling body splash is easy like I mentioned. To make the body splash you will need a clean sterile spray bottle to pour the ingredients into it. Once you have the bottle, pour all the ingredients into the bottle, place the spray cap on tightly and give the spray bottle a good shake to combine the ingredients together. Once the ingredients are combined together, you will have a cooling body splash to spray all over yourself on a hot sunny muggy day to help relieve you from the heat. The scent of the spray is also refreshing and calming to the mind, which makes it wonderful for natural stress relief. In addition, you can also use the spray too spray on aching parts of the body to help ease discomfort away naturally since the cooling sensation it provides is very soothing to aches and pains. After, you have made the spray place it in the refrigerator to keep it fresh and cool.
Using the Cooling Body Splash
When you are ready to use the cooling body splash, simply take it out of the refrigerator and spray yourself down with it from head to toe, or just use it on your face and arms. I would recommend if you were spraying it on yourself from head to toe to put a bathing suit on so it does not stain your clothing. If you are heading to the beach, place the cooling body splash into your lunch box cooler with tons of ice to help keep it cold so when you are at the beach and need relief from the heat the body splash is cold. When you feel the heat gets too much, grab it from the cooler, spray yourself down with it, and enjoy the cooling sensation it provides to the body from head to toe naturally.
The menthol in the body splash can irritate the eyes so be careful when you do spray the splash onto your face. Those of you who do not like cooling sensation on the body should not use this spray to help cool yourself on a hot day. Those of you who are allergic to mints should not use it either. Otherwise, the body splash is safe to use and an effective remedy when it comes to beating the heat from the sun naturally.
