Intro: Learn how to identify the Anti-Messiah of biblical eschatology. The Anti-Messiah refers to the coming of the most nefarious personality ever to emerge in human history. He will arrive on the world scene as a modern Caesar endowed with tactical and strategic brilliance in warfare, gifted with spellbinding oratorical powers in communication, empowered with organizational expertise in politics and government, and unequaled in his financial understanding of the global economic system. He will appear to be a peacemaker and builder of all the celebrated virtues of humanity. For many people who reject the real Messiah, he will be Plato’s philosopher king for modern socialists, the reincarnation of Socrates for secular philosophers, the Christ for apostate Christians, and the Mahdi for radical Islamic fundamentalists, the evolutionary superman primate for the atheists, the fifth Buddha for Buddhists, the incarnation of Khrisna for Hindus, and the savior of all humanity for those persons who reject biblical eschatology. However, some people will eventually discover that his real mission will be the destruction of humankind. The Anti-Messiah will be an extraordinary person possessed with exceptional talents. The biblical prophets refer to him as the man who destroys nations with peace while he conquers people with prosperity, the beast rising out of the violent sea, the evil shepherd, the lawless man, the impostor, the false messiah, and the Son of Perdition (Satan).
Step 1: Study the prophetic books of Daniel, Revelation, and Isaiah. These books describe the origin and destiny of Satan’s Anti-Messiah. Read the prophetic books written by biblical eschatologists such as Rev. Clarence Larkin, Bill Salus, Dr. John Mcternan, Hal Lindsey, Dr. Mark Hitchcock, Dr. Chuck Missler, Dr. Tomas Ice, Dr. Jack Van Impe, Perry Stone, and the late great Dr. Grant Jeffrey. These prophecy scholars are Holy Spirit filled men who have written books that sketch the birth, rise, and destination of the Anti-Messiah. They are brilliant historians that connect the dots between secular history and biblical prophecy.
Step 2: Know that the Anti-Messiah will be an cerebral genius with extraordinary superhuman intelligence. He will be the Devil’s imitation of Messiah Yeshua. This Son of Perdition will surpass Solomon in wisdom, Plato and Socrates in philosophy, Sir Isaac Newton in science and mathematics, Albert Einstien in theoretical physics, and James Langston Hughes in poetry and literature. In Dan. 7:20 he is represented as “A horn that had eyes”. This passage reveals a double symbol because in biblical imagery the “horn represents his strength while the eyes” identify his intelligence. Again, in Dan. 8:23 he is referred to as “A King of fierce countenance” who will “understand dark sentences”. In other words, what is complex and baffling to many smart and educated people will be simple and easy for him. The Hebrew word here translated “dark sentences” is the same word for “hard questions” in 1 Kings 10:1, where we read of the Queen of Sheba asking King Solomon her “hard questions” in order to test his wisdom. This term is the word that is used in Samson’s riddle in Judges 14. It reveals that the Anti-Messiah will answer many of the hard questions like Messiah Yeshua and he will be master of debater because he will understand all the secrets of the natural and supernatural universe. According to the prophet Ezekiel in chapters 28 verse three, he describes him as wiser than the prophet Daniel because there is no secret that they can hide from the Anti-Messiah. This will be one of his most intellectually captivating attractions. His master mind will captivate the secular and religious academic community. His power of reasoning woven in his marvelous store house of knowledge and his acquaintance with the secrets of nature and his superhuman powers of perception will identify him as the supreme intellectual genius of geniuses of the highest magnitude who will be second only to Messiah Yeshua himself.
Step 3: Realize that the Anti-Messiah will be the final great gentile leader. In other words, the Anti-Messiah will complete the celebrated history of gentile rulers that began with Thutmose III of Egypt, Sargon II of Assyria, Nebuchadnezzar II of Babylon, Cyrus of Persia, Alexander the Great of Greece, and Julius Caesar of Rome. When he arrives on the world platform, he will possess all the qualities of his predecessors along with an uncontrollable appetite for Christian and Jewish blood. According to the Book of Daniel, the Anti-Messiah is the final leader of the “times of the Gentiles”. The times of the Gentile refers to an unknown period of time that began in 606 BC with the Babylonian Empire of King Nebuchadnezzar, followed by the Persian Empire of King Cyrus, followed by the Grecian Empire of King Alexander the Great, followed by the Roman Empire of Julius Caesar, and concluding with the global European centered Empire of the Anti-Messiah. The times of the Gentiles only include Gentile leaders, but no Jewish rulers because the times of the Gentile are words that primarily refer to Gentile political and military history before the return of Messiah Yeshua. The times of the gentiles are found in Book of Daniel chapters 2, 7, 9, 10 and 11 and the Book of Revelation chapters 17 and 18.
Step 4: Learn that the Anti-Messiah will originate from Roman Geographical Roots, which has been commonly referred to as one of the ancient Roman territories. In other words, the Anti-Messiah will originate from one of the Gentile ethnic communities existing in the ancient Roman Empire. For example, in Daniel 9:26-27, the Anti-Messiah is called “the prince that shall come”. Since the words describing “the people of the prince” sketches the prophesied Roman Army that destroyed Jerusalem in 70 A.D, then the Anti-Messiah is probably a Gentile ruler and probably associated with one of the ethnic groups of Gentiles living in ancient Rome. In other words, the Anti-Messiah will be a non-Jewish person who is probably North African, Assyrian, Turkish, Italian, Greek, German, French, English, or Spanish because all of these ethnic groups were under Roman rule 2000 years ago. In addition, the Anti-Messiah is a Gentile ruler because the words in Revelation 17:9-12 state that he is one of the seven kings, which refers to the Gentile kingdoms of Egypt, Assyria, Babylon, Persian, Greece, Rome, and Revised Rome. Bear in mind, all of these kingdoms were Gentile kingdoms.
Step 5: Recognize that the Anti-Messiah will be a Nephilim. The Nephilim (Hebrew: נפלים, Nefilīm) were a race of violent warrior people that dominate the pre-flood world, and are referred to in the bible and classical Greco-Roman history as great warriors, heroes, and men of renown. They were the children born from the union of the “Sons of God” (Fallen Angels) with “daughters of men” (human females), which produced a giant race of violent male warriors. Their negative impact upon pre-flood humanity and beast caused God to destroy that pre-flood civilization with the global flood. This history means that the Anti-Messiah’s conception and birth will be under mysterious conditions because Genesis 3:15 refers to the Anti-Messiah as the seed of Satan and 2 Thessalonians 2:3 and John 17:12 refers to the Anti-Messiah as the Son of Perdition. The language in these biblical passages implies that the Anti-Messiah will be a demigod, which is part human and part demon. According to Genesis chapter six, fallen angels impregnated pre-flood women and produced a genetically engineered race of giant monsters during Noah’s day. Extra biblical commentaries, derived from the books of Enoch, Jasher, and Jubilees indicated that many of these giants had superhuman strength, they were extremely violent, they had physical deformities, and they were very brutish, but a few of them had superhuman intellect, physically beautiful, normal physical size, and they appeared to be gods in human form. Therefore, since Satan is a fallen angel, he may impregnate a young woman who is deeply involved in the occult, in order to counterfeit the Virgin conception and birth of Messiah Yeshua (Christ Jesus).
Step 6: Learn that the Anti-Messiah will have spellbinding oratorical powers. His words will reflect the passionate speeches of the Rev. Dr. Martin Luther King, the aristocratic eloquence of Prime Minister Sir Winston Churchill, and the fiery rhetoric of the German Fuehrer Adolph Hitler. He will speak many languages and he will have the perfect command, rhythm, and flow of the spoken word. His oratory will gain attention and command respect because Rev. 13:2 declares that his mouth is “as the mouth of a lion” which is a symbolic expression of the majesty, depth, richness, and quality heard in his unique voice. The sound of male lion excels that of many beasts. Thus, the Anti-Messiah will surpass orators from the past and present. He will use his oratory for evil because the prophets of the Bible portray the Anti-Messiah as speaking great things against God, magnifying himself above God, and blaspheming against God. The biblical passages that illustrate his demonically awe-inspiring orations are found in Daniel 7:8, 7:25, 8:11, 11:36, 2-Thessalonians 2:4, and Revelation 13:5-6.
Step 7: Learn that the Anti-Messiah will be an extraordinary military genius. He will perfectly execute all the strategic, tactical, and operational principles of warfare. According to Zechariah 11:17 and Revelation 13:3, the Anti-Messiah will have a darkened or blind right eye and an weak arm probably due to some of the injuries he sustained in battle as a military commander. His strategic and tactical military brilliance in warfare will surpass that of Alexander the Great of Macedonia, Hannibal of Carthage, Caesar of Rome, and Napoleon of France. The biblical prophets wrote that “he shall destroy wonderfully, and shall prosper, and practice, and shall destroy the mighty and the holy people” (Daniel 8:24). He will go “forth conquering and to conquer” (Rev. 6:2). He will sweep everything before him so that the world will exclaim, “Who is like unto the Beast? who is able to make war with him?” (Rev. 13:4). His military conquest will be global. The prophet Isaiah says that the anti-Messiah will “shake kingdoms” and “make the earth to tremble” (Isa. 14:16). He will probably be assassinated before being resurrected back to life again. Although Satan does not hold the key to life, the adversary of both God and man will attempt to counterfeit the resurrection power of Messiah Yeshua.
Step 8: Learn that the Anti-Messiah will be a covenant breaker and a desolator. This false friend of the Jewish people will break his covenant with Israel in the middle of seven years or after 1260 days (Daniel 9:27, 11:21-31). He will commit the Abomination of Desolation (Daniel 11:31, Matthew 24:15-19). The Abomination of Desolation refers to when the Anti-Messiah (Antichrist) sits in the newly rebuilt third Jewish Temple where he declares himself to be God; thus, beginning the great tribulation of 42 months (30 days for each month). Messiah Yeshua (Christ Jesus) mentions the occurrence of this terrible event when he commands the Jews living in Israel during that period to flee into the wilderness. Many tribulation saints will know that from that day onward they must now wait 1260 days before Messiah Yeshua returns to fight the Anti-Messiah in the Battle of Armageddon. He will kill two of God’s holy witnesses, who will probably be Moses and Elijah (Revelation 11:7). He will be worshiped by all non-believers who embrace the pagan religious traditions of Gentile Christianity. He will make war with the saints and cut of the heads of those persons who will not take his religious mark of the Beast (Revelation 13:7, 20:4). The mark of the Beast is a pagan religious mark based on the Anti-Messiah’s economic system.
Step 9: Learn that the Anti-Messiah will be a religious and economic genius. This world dictator will be responsible for the distribution of a religious and economic mark referred to as the mark of the beast because “he causes all, both small and great, rich and poor, free and bond, to receive a mark in their right hand, or in their foreheads: And that no man might buy or sell, save he that had the mark, or the name of the beast, or the number of his name” (Revelation 13: 16-18). The Hebrew and Greek alpha-numeric calculation (gematria) of the Anti-Messiah’s name may add up to 666 and the Mark of the Beast will be similar to microchip implant that operates like a credit card or an ATM system. The Anti-Messiah’s religious and financial system illustrates a worldwide socialistic style economic environment. Under his global regime centered in the European community everything will be nationalized, and none will be able to buy or sell without his permission (Rev. 13:17). All commerce will be under his economic control, and this will be used for his own financial enlargement. The wealth of the world will be redistributed globally based on the nations that support his religion. In other words, if people don’t practice the religion of the Anti-Messiah by taking his mark, they will not be allowed to participate in the socialistic economic system of the Anti-Messiah’s global government. Bear in mind, any person who receives the Mark of the Beast will be cast into lake of fire where they will remain forever.
Step 10: Learn that the Anti-Messiah will have a captivating religious personality. He will proclaim himself to be God revealed in human flesh while demanding that sacred honors be bestowed upon him when he is sitting in the Temple of God and showing himself be God (2 Thess. 2:4).He will execute unnatural and miraculous wonders in the presence of fallen humanity. So great will be these prodigious marvels that many people will be deceived into to believing that he is God because the Man of Sin will combine in himself all the varied genius of the human race and he will be invested with all the wisdom and power of Satan. As Satan’s master-peace of deception, the Anti-Messiah will be a master of science, a master of occult knowledge, and a master of nature’s forces when he unlocks all of the secrets of the physical universe. The prophet John wrote that “the world wondered after the Beast” (Rev. 13:3). His ultimate achievement will be when he survives the deadly wounded by a sword (Rev. 13:3). He will appear to resurrect himself from the dead, and thus awing most of humanity of this stupendous marvel. The fallen world will readily pay him Divine homage because of his imitation of the Messiah Yeshua’s death and resurrection when they worship his very image (Rev. 13:14,15).
Step 11: Learn that the Anti-Messiah will be a charismatic political and governmental genius. He will join together opposing forces while unifying conflicting agencies. Under the compelling power of his personality, will, and skill the celebrated European powers will be united into the United States of Europe. The utopian dream of a League of Nations and the United Nations will then be realized. The nations of Europe and elsewhere shall no longer be divided. The prophet John reveals a breathtaking symbolic picture of this future in Rev. 13:1,2: “And I stood upon the sand of the sea, and saw a Beast rise up out of the sea, having seven heads and ten horns, and upon his horns ten crowns, and upon his heads the name of blasphemy. And the Beast which I saw was like unto a leopard, and his feet were as the feet of a bear, and his mouth as the mouth of a lion: and the Dragon gave him his power, and his seat, and great authority”. Here we observe the coalition of forces involving the Roman, the Grecian, the Medo-Persian, and the Babylonian empires of Gentile history. He will be the personification of the world’s political and governmental authority. Thus, the world will be so persuaded by his fascinating spell that the 10 kings of the revised Roman Empire shall “give their kingdoms over to him” (Rev. 17:17). He will be the last great Caesar to rule humanity.
Step 12: Learn the many biblical passages related to the identification of the Anti-Messiah. According to many prophecy scholars, the primary Scriptures revealing the Anti-Messiah’s identity are found in the biblical passages describing him as the seed of Satan (Genesis 3:15), the little horn (Daniel 7:8), the king of fierce countenance (Daniel 8:23), the prince that shall come (Daniel 9:26), the desolator (Daniel 9:27), the willful king (Daniel 11:36), the man of sin (2thessalonians 2:3), the Son of Perdition (2Thessalonians 2:3), the lawless one (2thessalonians 2:8),the antichrist (1john 2:22), the beast (Revelation 11:7), the Assyrian (Isaiah 14), the first horseman (revelation 5), the wicked one (2thessalonians 2:3-8), the idol shepherd (Zechariah 11:17), the vile person (Daniel 11) , and the one who comes in his own name (john 5:43).
