Dead meat attracts flies. Who doesn’t know that?
So why would you knowingly attract flies by cooking it out in the open-especially when those flies kill and devour you like dead meat?
In the 4th season premiere of The Walking Dead, the prison has a Walker problem. But they cook deer for breakfast outside.
How dumb is that?
It may be dumb enough that Georgians might want to form an advocacy group to protest the negative depictions.
It’s not the only inane actions that the survivors do.
It’s clear they realize that walker guts ward off the Walkers from smelling human flesh and chomping into people like corn on the cob. Michonne was drenched in entrails which helped her stand side-by-side with walkers at the prison fence in Season 3. The prison survivors have likewise utilized this tactic to fight walkers.
So why don’t they do this all the time? Instead, they suffer casualties.
T-Dog, Zach, Donna, Big Tiny. They could have lived. If they weren’t stupid.
It’s not like walkers are in short supply.
That’s like having coupons in front of you but not using them.
Michonne walked around toting two Walkers. That offered protection from other zombies. Currently the prison is under siege from Walkers. Supposedly the fact that there are more humans concentrated in one location attracts the undead.
Why didn’t they pile up the un-Reanimated walkers corpses like sandbags to make a perimeter? Instead, they burned them.
In my spec script “Infection” both types of Walkers are utilized.
C’mon, Macgyver was huge in the South. You utilize what’s on hand. They found the worth in Reanimated Walkers to fight the Governor, but they couldn’t find the value of non-moving ones?
They’re working on a vegetable farm. But the fence that’s protecting them-as seen on the season teaser roll-eventually fails. Sandbags don’t exactly help in the sunshine. Instead of planting seeds, they should have piled up corpses before the storm.
Holes in the Head
Maybe having the zombie infection causes the brain to atrophy. That may be a reason that the last remaining survivors aren’t thinking.
Though this season Rick is not experiencing delusions, he’s still not acting right in the head. That may be a rationalization why he’s not using sound strategy.
But unless the survivors start thinking, they’re dead meat.
