At-home Hair Treatment, Rinse and Mask Out of Everyday Household Items

by fat vox

Just because money is tight does not mean that beauty has to be sacrificed. There are a number of things that most of us have around our homes that can be used to increase our sex appeal, even out our beauty problem areas and give us the look of having gone to the spa.

The first of these is eggs. Most people have heard that eggs are good for your hair, but most people don’t know that there are different ways to use the egg depending on your hair type. If you hair is normal and you are just looking for some extra shine, using the whole egg on your hair is fine. If you have this hair type and this method has not worked for you, remember that the treatment should sit on for about 20 minutes, when you rinse you should use cold water so that the egg does not start to cook into your hair and remember to shampoo afterwards and not before. If you have oily hair, you’ll want to only use the egg white since the yolk adds more oil into the hair. If you have dry hair, you’ll want to only use the yolk. Regardless of your hair type you should follow the above tips as well in terms of time and when to shampoo. This treatment should be done about once a month.

The second common household item that can be used is avocados. Rather than making a rinse or a leave-in treatment, avocados can be used to make a hair mask. If you are unfamiliar with those, they are a thick substance that gets pasted over hair and then is left to sit in a hot environment so that it can settle into the hair. Afterwards you rinse your hair. For this treatment you can shampoo beforehand like normal. To do this, you want 1-2 avocado depending on your hair thickness and length. You should use the whole avocado minus the skin and pits. You can also add in 1-2 tsp on olive oil if you would like some extra shine in the end result. After making the mixture you want to slather in on your hair. Next, run some hot water and soak a towel in it. You then want to wrap your hair up into the towel to help create a steam environment. When the towel cools, get it an extra minute and then rinse hair. This can be done 1-2 times a month. If you don’t have avocado you can also use about a half of cup of mayonnaise.

The last recommended hair fix with everyday household items it a vinegar rinse. This treatment works best will full strength vinegars. The benefit of vinegar is that it helps to eliminate dandruff and build up and can be used more frequently than the above two treatments. For this process, use a few tablespoons on vinegar. You want to apply it to damp hair and massage it in really well. I use a wide hard bristle brush to help massage it into the scalp for a few minutes. Before rinsing, apply shampoo as normal and then rinse them both out together. This treatment can be done a few times a week.
