Every planet has a black being. It hides among us, within one individual. Usually the person will live and die a normal life without ever even knowing about it, but, if activated it cannot be stopped until it has fulfilled its need, It is not dead, nor is it alive. It does not feel, it has no emotion, no anger, no joy or happiness. It will not hope or wish, it serves one purpose and one purpose only, to protect and heal.
Every life sustaining planet has a being, just like on earth, it is disguised as one of the dominant indigenous. The power of these beings are limitless, however, it’s protective instincts will not activate unless there is high possibility of total world extinction. During an event of this scale the being comes forth as an invincible soldier with the power of the universe in it’s possession.
Our planet earth has been saved twice by this being. The first time was during the age of dinosaurs. Everything we think we know about the extinction of the dinosaurs is wrong. The meteor that hit the earth did not cause the start of world extinction. It was what came with the meteor. A new life looking for a new planet. Intent on removing all life to make room for they’re own. They wiped out near everything until the black being intervened. It’s power is the only reason there is human life on earth today.
This is the story of how earth was saved again. When the monsters of that meteor returned and tried to conquer our plant for the second time.
The wall of the training room lifted and out they came. A small herd of Necros. These are vicious little creatures, about as big as a medium sized dog. They walk on four legs and have a spiked spine and razor sharp claws. Their tails have a poisonous barb at the end that could break off and then grow back almost instantly.
One by one he killed them off until it was just him and the last one. It made a leap at him, he smoothly and skillfully dodged the attack and grabbed the Necro by the throat. It squirmed for a bit and then died after a quick snap of the neck. He threw it to the ground and walked out.
This is Ion. He was seventeen at the time and was being trained to be a warrior fighting against the invasion. In the year 2246 a meteor struck the earth. It was about half the size of the moon. Out of it came creatures of all sort and sizes. They tore apart all the people in the surrounding area and would have continued world wide if it wasn’t for the energy barrier that was put up around the site. The quarantined area was designated as Zone Zeta. No one was permitted within the field because anyone who entered was killed.
Until ten years ago things were fine but then some of the aliens found a breach in the barrier. They went on a rampage killing thousands, including Ion’s mother and father. He was left alone at age seven. He had to learn to fight and hide himself or he was going to die.
Over the next two years he was able to avoid the creatures and he developed many tactics to trick them. At age nine some surviving refugees found him and took him in. When they saw his extensive fighting and evasion skills he was immediately enlisted into the defense squad. A division of warriors trained specifically to kill the invaders. While in camp he flourished as the star student. His hatred of the monsters drove him to his full potential, he was unbeatable.
“ATTENTION!!” came clearly and loudly through the speakers, “would Ion Everheart please report to the head administrations office.” The speaker cut and went back it just the sound of the day to day chatter between people at the shelter.
“Ohhh you’re in trouble” Misty said mockingly as she pointed a finger at Ion
“Oh whatever” he replied
“Haha it’s probably just another training upgrade of some sort” Misty said laughing
“Ya you’re probably right,” Ion said as he started heading to administration.
“Wait!” Misty shouted after him, “everyone else and I are going to the ruins in an hour make sure you come over when you’re all done with you’re special appointment.”
“Alrighty, bye Misty see you later,” he said and walked off.
Ion walked with perfect posture, hips forward, chest out, shoulders back, head up, he took care in his appearance. He was muscular boy with dark brown hair and bright blue eyes he had naturally tan skin and a very toned physique. He stood about five foot ten but always looked much taller, bigger and older than he really was.
Ion finally reached the administration office, he opened the door and walked in. This building was very high tech, gadgets and gizmos and computer screens covered the walls. A 3D interactive map floated in the center of the room that showed the location if each alien within 200 miles of the facility. At the back of the room sat the head leader of the refugees. He was a tall man always wearing camouflage pants with black combat boots. He wore a T-shirt and a dog tag around his neck. His name, Nexus.
“Hello Ion thank you for coming,” he announced loudly even though the two of them were the only ones in the room at the moment.
“Hello sir,” Ion replied. Ion didn’t feel right about this. Nexus didn’t sound like himself, he sounded nervous and anxious, a side of his general he had never seen. Something was wrong.
“Ion, 8 years ago we found you and brought you into our society and every day since then you have benefited us and helped the people in any way you could.” Nexus was almost shaking by this point, “from the day you showed expertise as a soldier we new what we needed to train you for. We needed you to end this crisis, to save our world.” Now Ion was in shock. He didn’t know what to say or think or do, he was at a complete loss of words.
Nexus continued, “we are putting together a team to finish this and we want you to lead it. We found the hive, and the well, mother if you could call it that. This mother has a connection to every alien on this planet right now. That’s why they heal so fast unless killed instantly. We take out the mother we take them all out.”
Ion just stood there, still unsure what to say. Once he finally built up the muster to say something all he could say was, “where is it?”
“It is located three clicks from this location,” said Nexus as he slid in his chair over to the map. He located the map to the hive where they could see every single alien life form in the horrible place. They crawled around everywhere like ants, all feeding on the resources of the planet.
“Your target is the largest one of them located at the very bottom of the hive. Getting down there will not be easy but this needs to be done now. The aliens have increased their breeding rate by more than triple, we believe they are planning a mass take over with numbers counting in the billions. At that point they will over run our barriers and earth will be lost and our plant will belong to them.” Nexus turned to Ion now with his straight face that he always had, he looked him straight in the eye and asked, “so Ion will you take this mission, will you save the world?”
Ion, now back to his normal self, said proudly, “when do we leave?”
