Best Strategies for Tigra in Marvel: Avengers Alliance

by fat vox

Overview – Tigra is a character that combines the best features of an infiltrator and a scrapper. She is accurate, agile, surprisingly durable, and averages about three attacks per round. Against enemies that are immune to bleeding, she loses enough power to make infiltrators like Kitty Pryde or Black Widow a better choice, but against enemies that aren’t immune, she is one of the best infiltrators in the game.

How to Obtain – Tigra can be purchased for 90 command points.

Special Abilities – Hunter’s Senses – This special ability lowers the damage that Tigra takes when she is attacked by a bleeding enemy. Both bleeding and shred activate this ability, which means that Tigra’s health is essentially 10-30% higher in any fight.

Razor Claws (Level 1) – This moderate stamina cost single target melee attack deals moderately low damage. In addition, the attack applies the bleeding condition or the shred condition if the target is immune to bleeding. Shred decreases defense and can stack multiple times. Razor Claws also makes Tigra score a critical hit the next time she hits with an attack. All of these benefits makes it very tempting to use Razor Claws exclusively and it is a good enough power that this is the right tactic in some fights.

Swipe (Level 2) – This attack deals very low damage for a low stamina cost. The advantage of this attack is that it is a quick action and that it causes additional damage to bleeding targets. Swipe should be used every single round, except possibly on the first round when no enemies are bleeding yet.

Tiger’s Fury (Level 6) – Tiger’s Fury has a high stamina cost and deals moderately high damage to a single enemy. Additionally, the attack increases Tigra’s attack and defense and applies the staggered condition. It is an excellent attack that unfortunately does not synergize well with the rest of her powers. It should either be used on the first round or not used at all. Until Tigra learns Frenzy, Tiger’s Fury is a pretty good opener. After that, it is rarely worth using.

Frenzy (Level 9) – Tigra should open with Frenzy in almost every fight. This high stamina cost attack deals low damage to all enemies, applies bleeding, and grants Tigra the ability to make a follow-up attack against bleeding targets. This last ability is what makes the attack so good. With this attack, she will rip through enemies incredibly quickly.

Unlocks – Tigra was required to unlock the epic boss Green Goblin in Special Operation 6. She is not currently required to unlock any game content.

PvP – Tigra is generally one of the better infiltrators in PvP. Only three heroes are immune to bleeding and Luke Cage is basically never used. The biggest threat is Wolverine who is a scrapper and can shake off the bleeding special ability. She is particularly effective against the always popular Captain America and against Dr. Strange. She is best paired with a good bodyguard of some sort because her health is relatively low.

Variant Uniforms – Tigra does not currently have any variant uniforms.
