With the latest installment of Call of Duty released November 2012, and the next title, “Ghosts”, coming this November, more and more people are getting into the phenomenal multiplayer. But with the surge of more players comes the inevitable surge of boosters, people not getting their scores the traditional way of taking positions or going for kills. Instead, they have a guest account or buddy on the other team and constantly stand there and kill them, while they lay tactical insertions, allowing you to spawn right back up where you lay it until they get what they’ve needed. Whether it’s for calling cards, emblems or scorestreaks, boosters are the ultimate reason I quit at least half of my games.
While this might sound like a not-so-good at the game, “noob”, rest assured, I am not. I have a high kill-death ratio and a decent win-loss record, but I am not whining, merely saying that the people that boost ruin the gun of the game. Not only does this hurt the whole team that is being boosted against, it also gets most boosters reported and sometimes kicked off for a week or so. But boosters give actual good players bad reps, because if the players are doing good and not boosting, they are still reported and harassed by the enemy team for being a booster. When it was done fair and square.
This takes all the fun out of the game, and usually it’s done one person in a game at a time that’s a booster if you have one. Players rarely see multiple sets of boosters in the same lobby, although this has been the case several times. And it doesn’t matter which system you play on, they are always going to be there. If you are not a booster and get your wins and scores truthfully, and you have a booster in your game. Hang out around the corner and wait until you see their kills close to thirty, then frag their behinds.
The normal booster goes for the ‘Nuclear Killer’ calling card, which is thirty kills without dying, not including scorestreak kills. If you wait until they are around twenty-seven or twenty-eight, killing them really pisses them off. But you kind of get your point across.
I’ve actually had a game where i went to kill the booster and got killed by my own team mate that was helping him. It’s ridiculous what we spend on games these days to have to put up with crappy players like this. My words of advice for boosters, stop cheating, play the game fairly and one day you might be as good as the rest of us that don’t boost. Some people never get better, but boosting isn’t a final resort, you’ll get your shot, just make sure you take it before the enemy does.
