Broad Street Inn is an exquisite Victorian home nestled in the charming historic downtown of Nevada City. Built in 1870, this stunning inn features original woodwork and several glass windows from that time period. In the late 1980s Gordon Betts, former owner of the Brass Shop in town, restored much of the inn. All of the electrical, plumbing, and insulation were updated, and a private bathroom was added to each bedroom.
Today, the Broad Street Inn is a welcome place for guests yearning for the warmth and good cheer that is all too commonly lost in the hurried pace of modern life. Your hosts, Steve, Valerie, and Sydney Moberg, look forward to serving you and making your vacation extra special.
The Broad Street Inn offers six delightful rooms, each individually furnished and decorated. Every room is complete with a comfortable Queen-size bed, a private bathroom with a tub shower, free Wi-Fi, cable television, and access to inviting patios and a sunroom. To help guests feel at home, the inn supplies a microwave, refrigerator, toaster, wine glasses and wine opener in the lovely sunroom. Freshly prepared coffee is available for those who want a hot beverage. Just short walks from the Broad Street Inn are fabulous restaurants and cafés offering reasonably priced menus. A couple of recommendations from the hosts are Ikes Restaurant and South Pine Café. For your convenience, the inn has copies of menus for all the downtown restaurants, so finding something you will enjoy is simplified.
Many fun-filled attractions and events are located near the inn to enhance your vacation. Minutes away you can enjoy hiking, museums, wineries, live theater, fine restaurants and art galleries. Depending on the time of year you are planning your visit, you may enjoy events such as the annual Psychic Fair, Mardi Gras Parade, Foreign Car Show, Soapbox Derby, Farmers Market, Nevada County Fair, Nevada City Film Festival, and Victorian Christmas. If you are up for a scenic drive, you can visit popular nearby towns such as Grass Valley, Auburn, Roseville and Sacramento.
You may decide to simply relax at the inn by reading a book or enjoying your favorite drink on the back patio. In cooler weather you can recline on a comfortable patio chair and soak up the warmth rising from the fire pit. If you enjoy people-watching, then the front patio chairs or porch swing are perfect spots for you. Accommodation prices vary depending on the time of year, but rates are affordable and there is always something here for everyone.
