The multitalented Jennifer Lopez is a superstar in every sense of the word.
Jennifer’s taping for “A Step Away” television program recently visited 66 cities and five continents around the world.
Jennifer’s newest project was bigger than her usual tours this was her first world tour.
Cameras followed Jennifer Lopez and her 10 dancers during the entire tour. This was a behind-the-scenes reality-style show for the public to see on NUVOtv.
The audience will have a front seat to Jennifer Lopez’s show and to experience unrehearsed scenes backstage.
Producing “A Step Away,” a television docu-series and show, was a major production.
Beau Casper Smart, “A Step Away” television program’s choreographer and dancer, explained, “You can follow the guys and girls around and walk with them on their journey traveling on a world tour.
“A Step Away” deals with their triumphs and struggles, ups and downs, all the different characters and personalities on the road.
There’s drama and fun all happening on camera. Many emotions are involved.”
Beau described the procession of baggage, “We have truckloads of stage props, costumes and equipment being transported.
In the United States, we carried our stages around with us. While traveling in Europe, Asia and Australia, we were at the mercy of each venue’s stage.
When the stairs leading up to the stage were in the back we had to make changes with every stage in each new city.
During our technical rehearsals we had to adjust quickly.
Sometimes we could go out and enjoy the city but it was usually before a show. We didn’t have any days off. Our days off were traveling days. We were packing, going to the airport, traveling to the next city then unpacking before the show.
On the days of the show, the show was usually late, 9 pm, we tried to go out and see the city.
We didn’t have a chance to see many cities except China and Dubai; in fact we celebrated Thanksgiving in Dubai.”
Thanksgiving in Dubai without turkey!
Beau added, “We did have turkey that we cooked our self-for a home-style Thanksgiving.”
Jennifer Lopez made a statement with the “A Step Away”. She wanted to show everything that goes into a world tour. The lives of the dancers sound glamorous until you see all the hard work and efforts that go into such a project.
Jennifer has now added the title of Cable Television Executive to her others.
Working with Jennifer Lopez was a learning experience for the dancers.
“A Step Away” television program airs Thursdays, at 10 pm on NUVOtv.
