by fat vox

Needed:
2 cups mango nectar
3-1/2 cups orange soda
Cup of water
1 box Lemon Jell-o
Cup of whipping cream
2 tablespoons honey
Candy corn
Wooden spoon

When you’re having a Halloween party candy corn is practically a staple. The tasty candies are rarely seen any other time of the year, but in the fall, millions are sold. So, go ahead and put out dishes of the pretty, striped candy, but take your appreciation of them even further for your party. Your guests are going to need drinks, too, and they can be candy corn as well. The drinks, not the guests! A striped, candy corn punch is definitely in order this Halloween but don’t run to dig out your punchbowl. The delicious juice drink is the most tempting if it’s in a clear glass pitcher.

Mango nectar is a delicious juice but often is found in the Mexican food section rather than the regular juice section. Purchase it by the large can or the single-serve cans; you’ll need two cups of the juice. In addition to the mango nectar you’ll need lemon Jello, orange soda, whip cream, water, and honey.

Pour a cup of water into a large saucepan and bring it to a boil. Stir the regular-size pack of lemon Jello into the water until it is completely dissolved. Stir in the juice and remove from the heat. Pour the liquid into a clear glass pitcher; it should hold at least two quarts. Put the mixture into the refrigerator for about three hours. The liquid should get thick but should not be set up like Jello. The mixture becomes the bottom, yellow stripe of the candy corn punch.

Add the orange soda to create the orange stripe for the candy corn punch. To make the orange soda rest atop the yellow mixture, use a wooden spoon or similar thing. Put the spoon right over the top of the yellow mixture and slowly pour the orange soda over the spoon. The orange soda should be very cold so keep it in the fridge the night before making the punch. Pour three and a half cups of orange soda into the pitcher, letting it slowly run down the sides of the spoon and into the pitcher.

Mix two tablespoons of honey with a cup of whipping cream – with a mixer – until it forms peaks. Spoon the whip cream on top of the orange soda to create the white stripe of the candy corn punch. Put some candy corn on top of the whip cream to garnish (optional).

Candy corn punch is beautiful, unusual, and delicious. It’s absolutely made for such an occasion as Halloween. Before serving it, stir it all up, and let everyone enjoy it. You might want to prepare a second batch; it’s quite addictive!
