On a freezing-cold winter day, all I can think about is taking a pampering warm mud bath at my favorite spa, but I do not always have the money to visit the spa for one. Instead, I have come up with my own mud bath that is just as warm and wonderful as the one at the spa. It is my coconut milk mud bath for purifying skin. It contains coconut milk for softening and nourishing skin and French clay for drawing out impurities and toxins from the skin and body. However, my mud bath is white and creamy in color instead of green or brown, and it is a lot thinner than the mud baths you would take at a spa.
Creating the Coconut Milk Mud Bath
Before I can make my coconut milk mud bath, the first thing I have to do is visit my local herbal shop and organic whole food store for some basic ingredients. Those ingredients are a pound of French clay powder, a gallon of raw organic coconut milk, a cup of pure vanilla extract, half pound of whole milk powder or buttermilk powder, two cups of aluminum free baking soda and a bottle of my favorite essential fruity oil, which is mango. You may use whatever essential oil you please in your mud bath to help you relax. I use mango because it blends well with the coconut milk for a tropical coconut mango scent.
Once I have collected all my ingredients, I take them home and place them in the bathroom near the bathtub so I can begin making my coconut milk mud bath.
To begin making my mud bath for pure relaxation and pampering on a freezing cold winter day I begin filling up my bathtub with hot water. As the tub is filling up with the water, I pour in all the ingredients into the tub along with twenty five to thirty drops of the mango essential oil. I pour the ingredients into the tub as the water is filling it because adding the ingredients in after the tub is completely full of water can actually change the temperature of the water, and I love my bath water hot and snuggly warm.
After all the ingredients are in the bathwater, I swish my hands in it to dissolve all the ingredients and blend them together well with the water to create a slightly thick milky mud bath. As I do this, the mango scent from the essential oil blending with the coconut milk releases into the air and provides calmness.
As soon as the coconut milk mud bath is made, I get into the warm bath and enjoy the pampering and relaxation provided by it. I also allow the coconut milk and whole milk in the bath to beautifying my skin with the antioxidants and beautifying properties they contain while the French clay and baking soda pull toxins, impurities and heavy metals from my skin and body naturally. While all these wonderful things are happening to my body natural pain relief is provided by the vanilla extract, which also contains antioxidant and stress relieving properties. Vanilla acts as a natural sedative, which is way it is effective for relieving stress within the body and the mind.
The longer I soak in the mud bath the softer and more vibrant I find my skin to be and the more relaxed my body and mind become. I also find the chills and aches and pains within my body caused by the freezing cold winter air vanish away as well leaving me with warmth and comfort. After the bath, I am always refreshed and rejuvenated and looking and feeling my best. This is definitely a mud bath worth making and taking at home when you are under stress or in simple need of pampering.
Not always having enough money for a spa treatment mud bath on a cold winter day does not mean you have to skip out on the warming bath. Instead, go get some natural ingredients that are more budget friendly and create your own mud bath spa treatment at home, as I did. You will be pleased with the results you receive from it and will want to make this coconut milk mud bath over and over again.
