Creative Ways to Use Vintage Glass Soda Pop Bottles

by fat vox

Glass soda pop bottles were once a dime a dozen. These days the vintage varieties are harder to find, and they are more useful than ever. They can be beautifully decorated and used in many creative new ways. Even without adding a single embellishment, they can be used to make unique soap dispensers, oil and vinegar containers, jewelry holders and more. Put your vintage glass soda pop bottles to use instead of allowing them to continue collecting dust. If you do not have any, browse flea markets for full size classic finds. They will cost more than they did when they were new, but they are well worth buying and using in creative and practical ways.

Make an Oil and Vinegar Dispenser with Unique Vintage Flair

Vintage soda pop bottles make fantastic oil and vinegar salad dressing dispensers. Shop online for plastic bottle pourers. Although they are designed for use with plastic containers, they will work with glass. Just be certain that the diameter of the pourers will fit the openings before making a purchase. They will work beautifully for storing and pouring oil and vinegar based dressings.

Use Old Glass Soda Pop Bottles to Hold an Array of Hair Ties

Hair ties can take up a tremendous amount of space in bathroom drawers, and they quickly become a jumbled mess. Use vintage soda pop bottles to hold elastic hair ties. Simply place them over the bottles and slide them into place. Not only will they remain neat and easy to find, but they will cover up the logos in colorful ways.

Create Unique Pump Soap Dispensers

Would you like unique pump soap dispensers to use in a bathroom and/or kitchen? Vintage soda pop bottles can be transformed into unique pump-style soap dispensers. Container & Packing Supply sells pumps in many different sizes and styles, and the prices are surprisingly low. Choose pumps that will fit the tops of your vintage soda pop bottles. They do not have to screw into place. Wrap the tops of the bottles with plumber’s tape to create a tight seal after pushing the pumps into place.

These are just some of ways that vintage soda pop bottles can be repurposed and reused. They also make fantastic bracelet holders. Fill the bottles with layers of colored aquarium gravel, and seal the tops with corks. The added weight will help to prevent accidental tipping, and the gravel will add unique style and visual appeal. They can also be used as bud vases both indoors and out. In any case they are worth saving or selling. If you do not use them, someone that enjoys crafting and decorating most certainly will.
