Just in time for summer vacation, Disney World is rolling out two new interactive experiences for its guests visiting theme parks at Walt Disney World. Attendance at theme parks rose by a little over five percent last year and attendance is expected to rise even more again this year. Disney is utilizing this growth in theme park attendance to introduce new interactive experiences to entertain park guests. The games are also designed to entice new visitors to the park to increase Disney’s share of increased park attendance. One of the big draws of a Disney World vacation is guests are allowed to meet and interact with their favorite Disney characters instead of simply watching them in movies and on television. Through the two new interactive games, guests can now become the hero of their very own Disney “show” as they play each game and the storyline develops. Each game is free to play for park guests.
The ” Agent P ” game takes place in the World Showcase located at Epcot. It is based on the characters from the Disney Channel show “Phineas & Ferb.” Guests report to a recruitment center located throughout the World Showcase to pick up their F.O.N.E. (Field Operative Notification Equipment) and an assignment. The F.O.N.E. is a high-tech, interactive “super agent” device that allows guests to communicate directly with Phineas & Ferb to receive clues that help them stop the evil Dr. Doofenshmirtz’s plan. Each mission takes less than an hour and involves finding clues through the World Showcase pavilions. Children of all ages will love working to defeat the evil Dr. Doofenshmirtz and save the day.
” Sorcerers of the Magic Kingdom ” takes place in Disney’s Magic Kingdom and transforms guests into apprentice sorcerers. Guests are invited to help Merlin stop Hades and his evil cohorts (Ursula, Scar, Cruella De Vil, Jafar and more) from taking over the Magic Kingdom. Some of Disney’s favorite villains are searching through the Magic Kingdom for the four crystals that make up the Crystal of the Magic Kingdom. With these shards, Hades can assemble the Crystal and take over the Magic Kingdom. Apprentice sorcerers are given a copy of Merlin’s mystical map, a mission and spell cards to help defeat the villains as they battle their way through the Magic Kingdom. Each Magic Portal is unlocked with your Sorcerer Key card so that you can use your spell cards to battle a different villain. Beloved Disney characters will also help encourage you and congratulate you along your journey to saving the Magic Kingdom.
My family has been on several Walt Disney World vacations and we are looking forward to our next stay at a Disney World resort so that we can play these great interactive games. Walt Disney World was already a fantastic experience; however, being able to be the “hero” of our very own Disney story will be a fantastic new adventure for our next summer vacation in Orlando.
