I have been writing articles for clients for nine months now but it has only been 3 weeks since I started writing for companies like Triond, Yahoo Contributor Network, Info barrel, Publish Us, List My Five, and All Voices. When I ascertained that writers can make passive income from writing articles of their choice, I was elated. Especially when I learned that the writers could generate a decent amount of revenue each month. Reading articles that exposed how much money one could make from passive income that was all I needed to drill me in.
Unfortunately, the only thing that I saw in these articles was how much money one could make and completely disregarded how they went about making that amount. I was thinking that one could write at least 50 articles and I would make thousands. Wrong! Wishful thinking wasn’t it? I don’t know why I thought millions of people would view my articles; there are countless of articles on the internet, so it will take a while for thousands or millions of views to pile up.
The freelance writers, who have claimed to have made thousands per month, have written an aggregate of thousands of articles. Most of the freelance writers have stated that these articles have to be informative and interesting, but no one can say how your article should be written. Sometimes you could write an article based on your boring life and a miracle happens…it goes viral. I remember writing an article about being afraid to go natural because I did not want to chop my hair off, which is also considered the ”Big Chop,” and to my amazement, I received thousands of views. I was completely shocked by that. So you just never know how many views a single article will accumulate.
The best thing that you could do is be yourself and write about what you want, not what you think will get you millions of views. However, you must write thousands of articles, perhaps 2,000-5,000 articles. I know that may seem like a lot, but once you get the hang of it, surely it won’t seem like a lot.
How to Begin Your Mission to Writing Thousands of Articles
Three weeks ago I decided that I wanted to be one of those freelance writers who makes six figures or thousands per month, so I immediately signed up for different companies and began writing. I write about anything and everything. The one thing that you do not want to do is have a certain topic that you choose to write about because you want to capture all audiences. I have written articles that pertain to teens, romance, personal issues, crime, history, and personal thoughts. Whatever I learn, I try to write an article about it.
You have to be 100 percent dedicated to this or you will be doing all of this for nothing. I want to make passive income so badly that it has now become my passion. What I now do is write out a schedule and this is because I have other work-from-home jobs that I need to tend to. One other thing, you will also need to have a backup job that is going to allow you to have money in your pocket, because your first year writing and trying to earn passive income isn’t going to pay the bills. Since I have started, three weeks ago, I have accumulated $0.60. That’s it! That could not even buy me a burger from McDonald’s.
Also, revolve your life around writing. I know that may be a stretch, but it may help. I recently went out of town and I wrote an article about the city that I went to. I also went to a nice restaurant and I wrote another article about that, as well as the hotel that I stayed in. Sometimes you have to write reviews or personal things that others can relate to because that may bring in more views. Try to educate yourself on topics you know nothing about. For instance, I have zero knowledge on computers, so right now I am in the midst of learning about computers. Whatever I learn, I am going to write an article about it. Being knowledgeable on more than one topic can increase your views, and the more views, the better.
