Dads, listen up- there is nothing Mom loves more than a cute and heartfelt gift from her kiddos. If you have young children (from around 15 months to around 10 years or so), then you may need to help them come up with a great Mother’s Day gift that she will love, and they will love to be part of. Here are 5 great easy Mother’s Day gifts for young children to give Mom.
A garden of love
Get a large flower pot and take the kiddos to the garden section of Wal-Mart or your local greenhouse. Allow each of your kids to pick a flower (or a garden decoration if they wish) and create a truly unique flower bouquet that Mom can love every spring! What kid doesn’t love to get a little dirty, and this is something even your very young kids can be part of!
note: geraniums, daisies, and pansies are easy growers that don’t take a lot of work, and come in enough colors that your kids can pick them out easily.
Mom’s own coffee mug!
Grab a package of colorful Sharpies and a white coffee mug at your local dollar store and let the kiddos go wild decorating Mom’s new coffee mug. Bonus points if you buy her a saucer, too and cover it with cute kisses and hugs.
note: if you’ve got way young kids, get plastic mugs for safety.
Give Mom sweet dreams
Get fabric paint (or use those Sharpies again) and put little hand prints from each of the kiddos on a white pillow case. You can trace their hand prints with a Sharpie if you wish and allow your little ones to ‘sign’ the pillowcase wherever they wish. Mom will love her homemade treasure!
note: do the same with a plain white t-shirt or any white fabric.
Make Mommy breakfast
Allow each of your kids to make a certain part of Mom’s breakfast, and have them clean up their own mess. Even your toddler can carry a banana to Mommy in bed. Mom will love being pampered by her kiddos, and you will love your little helpers.
note: stay away from cereal and other liquids in her meal if she’s eating in bed. Toast or pancakes is perfectly fine, with some scrambled eggs.
Mom will LOVE a giant Mother’s Day Card
A poster board makes for an amazing Mother’s Day card. Get out the glitter, stickers, Sharpies, and cute family pictures and decorate the poster board to abandon showing Mom how much you all love her. Then before she wakes up, hang it up on the wall where she will see it first thing. She will love her morning wake up call.
note: if the kids want to give it to Mom themselves, let them carry it to her room to present it. Gluing mini chocolate bars to the poster is an added bonus, Dad, that Mom will be sure to thank you for.
Happy Mother’s Day to all the Mommies out there!!!
