EFT, or Tapping, Improves Emotional and Physical Health

Several years ago, I was introduced to a website that extolled the benefits of something they called EFT, Emotional Freedom Technique. Many people call it ‘tapping’, and if you have a problem, they’ll tell you to ‘tap on it’ to get relief from that problem. Well, this all sounded a bit hokey to me, and I’m definitely not one to take things at face value without doing research into it myself. So I set out to learn about EFT and how the Emotional Freedom Technique worked.

Years later, I still use this technique nearly daily, and I’m pleased to see it is being more accepted in the mainstream than ever before. Dr. Mercola and Dr. Oz both have mentioned it, and any of your law of attraction practitioners will talk about EFT as well. More people have heard of it, at least in passing, but what, exactly, is EFT?

Emotional Freedom Technique (EFT)

EFT was founded by Gary Craig, and his website is probably the best place to start to find out more in depth information about tapping with EFT. He has instructional videos, information, history and more in order to learn everything you might want to know about EFT.

Basically, EFT works off similar principles to Eastern meridian therapy, the same philosophies that are used for acupuncture and acupressure treatment. With EFT, instead of using focused pressure or inserting needles to clear blockages, the person will use tapping to work on the specific EFT meridian points.

But EFT takes it a step further than acupuncture and acupressure by including an emotional/psychological aspect to the tapping. If you’ve ever had acupuncture, you know it can be an emotional and emotionally draining experience. With EFT, you can address that emotion while tapping, and clear it instead of being left to deal with it. The more you clear blockages and process the emotions that come up, the better you will feel, both physically and emotionally.

Clearing Blockages, Tapping with EFT

The philosophy is, anything that makes the body ill comes from the mind or the soul of the person, and if you heal the mind and soul, the body will heal itself. Emotions, repressed ones, painful ones, negative feeling ones, all work against us and limit our ability to be as fulfilled and healthy as we can be. When we deal with those emotions, we clear the physical and emotional blockages that they cause. Since our bodies are made of energy and energy flows through us, it improves our health and wellbeing when that energy can flow freely, with no blockages, no pent up energy, no repressed negativity that manifests in a physical way.

So ‘tapping’ on those problem areas helps to clear those blockages-both in a physical way and in a metaphysical way-and allows the energy of our bodies to flow freely and easily. When this happens, happiness, emotional wellbeing and physical health can be the result.

EFT for Pain Relief

I’ve begun to use EFT for pain relief, because I live with a type of chronic pain as well as having severe nerve damage back pain from having adult acute scoliosis with degenerative disc disease. When the pain gets bad, tapping can greatly reduce my pain. I also use EFT to help manage my pain while waiting or medication to work on the pain. EFT can, in the midst of my worst pain, reduce it by more than half before the pain pills help me out. That’s significant pain reduction without any medical or pharmaceutical intervention.

EFT is Free and Easy to Try

You don’t have to pay for EFT, and you can get all the instruction you need on Gary Craig’s website, http://www.emofree.com, to teach you how to do EFT properly. You can’t hurt yourself by doing it, there’s no pain or expensive things to buy. All you have to do is learn how to do your setup phrases to focus in on the problem you’re wanting to tap on, and then start tapping the right points on your body the right way.

You might feel a little silly doing tapping at first, but give it some time. It can be quite powerful if you do it right. The only thing you have to lose is some pain, illness and emotional baggage you’ve been carrying around. Again, it costs nothing, you don’t have to sign up for anything, and you can learn to do it on your own at home in private. Before you try expensive medical procedures or chemical-laden medications to treat your pain and other conditions, give EFT a chance to help improve your situation and health.
