In today’s economic society, many people are watching their money. It is not matter of wanting to, it is that they have to watch it. Some people are watching there many go as soon as they receive their paycheck. It is a wonder if teenagers are truly taught about money and where it goes, loans, credit cards, and checking accounts. Even people that have retired are now watching where there money is going. More and more people are trying to be frugal with their money or trying to find ways to save money in there house.
People are living paycheck to paycheck. Basically as soon as they get the paycheck it is gone due to bills that need to be paid. So then they have stretch every dime to the next paycheck. You may not even know which of your friends may be living this way. They pay their bills and the children are fed, and that is what matters in life. People today cannot keep money in the bank till the bill is due, it would most likely be used for other things that arise before the bill is due. So the bill must be paid, when the money comes to the bank. If there is children in the family, there is always something that is worn out, a school project need supplies, sickness which includes doctor visits and medicine or a extracurricular activity needs certain supplies.
Some people in their later stages of life are not as concerned about money but it is still a major factor for their future. They are unable to tell what health situations will come for them. They have to plan for their death so they must have life insurance so their family can bury them or the spouse is able to continue to pay for things that are needed on a day to day basis afterwards. These individuals most likely have stocks or bonds and are watching the stock market when to pull their money or to move it to a different style of investment. Individuals that lived in the depression know how to be frugal with their money. They lived in a time where there was no choice in money and how you lived. There was not much choice in the types of jobs a person could have. As we should be taking lessons from these individuals on how to live with the money we have and how to stretch even farther.
Families are competing the family next door and the newest technology item. During the depression years, people were able to get by even less than we had. Some people cannot even fathom the idea of doing without a television or newest video game. What about just going outside and playing a game of baseball with the neighbor kids. Think about one thing in your life that you could do without for example, cable channels, or even the television in general or the microwave. There are ways to occupy your time instead of watching television. There are ways to cook without the microwave. How can you stretch your money farther? May it be cutting one monthly expense or cooking more items from scratch. Everyone has to think about the future and if you will have money if someone gets sick or even dies in the family. Whether everyone wants to or not we must watch the money.
