To this day, I’m still traumatized by horror stories concerning wedding registries that turned out to be a complete disaster for both the bride and groom. It’s a path that me and my future husband would rather not tread upon.
When I think back to these stories, I’m increasingly grateful there are more options out there. In my experience so far, I’ve got no regrets for choosing Amazon with their easy to work with and high quality wedding registry.
Friends of ours recently got married and in the time leading up to their big day, they experienced a problem with their Target wedding registry. The list never updated, not even once. Weeks and weeks went by and their list remained the same from start to finish. We found this a bit odd and couldn’t believe that no one had bought them anything up to just a couple weeks before their wedding was due.
When we purchased an item from their registry, we checked to see if the status had changed and it hadn’t. At that point, we figured out that what was going on was that when guests purchased gift items of their choosing from the registry, there was no indicator showing that they had done so.
For example, if our friends had originally added three sets of washcloths to the list, then the list should have clearly shown there were now only two left. Since there was none subtracted, the list continued to show that three were needed.
To tell you the truth, Target probably would have been our store of choosing but after our friends’ experience and some research we did on our own, we decided against it. The only other store I could think of was Wal-Mart, but that wasn’t really an option for us. Instead, we went with Amazon.
From the beginning of my experience with Amazon’s wedding registry, I was tremendously pleased. It was extremely easy to set up and altogether, it took about two minutes. It asks for only the information that is needed and doesn’t pry too much into your private affairs. Furthermore, the instructions are crystal clear, direct, and straightforward.
Thankfully, Amazon isn’t like Target. When an item has been purchased, the list automatically updates. There’s no use worrying about whether or not you’ll be getting six of the same items. Not too mention, other guests will know what still needs bought and what doesn’t. It really makes it easier and better for everyone.
I noticed that a lot of the goods found on Amazon’s featured wedding registry collection are Prime items. Since the time leading up to our wedding is running out fast, this is truly ideal for us, as well as for our guests. Those with a Prime plan can take advantage of their membership knowing that their shipment is guaranteed to arrive in just two days.
This means no headaches wondering whether or not the gift will come in time for the wedding. It goes without saying, we have a huge feeling of relief also. In addition, those guests with a Prime membership will get free shipping too.
I highly recommend Amazon for your wedding gift registry. It’s everything other stores aren’t and then some.
