Whether you prefer haunted houses or ghost tours, there’s something for everyone in Western New York this Halloween season.
District of the Dead, located at the McKinley Mall in Hamburg, has joined forces with Your Final Fear (formerly at the Hamburg Fairgrounds) to create one of the largest indoor haunted houses in the New York State for 2013. District of the Dead features seven haunted houses, including Quarantined and Mine Shaft. Quarantined tells the story of underground biological experiments gone wrong, while Mine Shaft is the story of an abandoned mine shaft once controlled by a rural family the rest of the townsfolk didn’t care for – what those townsfolk did left them haunted forever. All ages are welcomed to visit District of the Dead, but it is recommended that children under age 12 be accompanied by an adult, according to the website – find out more here.
Tickets are $28 and are available at the website. A portion of the profits from this year’s haunt will go to Women and Children’s Hospital of Buffalo.
