Fast and Furious Movie Series Ranking

by fat vox

If you’re like me then you’ve seen all six Fast and Furious movies and you plan on seeing the seventh. We all have our favorite and least favorite of the series. Breaking down all six movies of the franchise let’s see which movie is best, which is the worst, and where part 6 ranks.

1. The Fast and the Furious (2001)
Rating- 5/5
Most of the time with movies the original is the best. That’s exactly the case here. It is easily the most dramatic of the series because the villain, Dominic Toretto has no idea that Brian O’Conner is a cop. And then there’s the final dramatic scene where Brian lets Dominic go setting up part 2 and 3 and so on. It all started here.

2. The Fast and the Furious: Tokyo Drift (2006)
Rating- 4/5
This was the most impressive movie of the series, part 3. The production team had to basically redo the entire movie from the bottom up because the cast was entirely different. Based in Japan it gives us a view of the drift capital of the world, Tokyo. Again, it may not have been the best movie of the series but it was the most impressive.

3. Fast 5 (2011)
Rating- 4/5
How often is part 5 in a movie sequel great? Not often. But that’s not the case here. This fast and furious takes place in Brazil and it features Dwayne Johnson, “the Rock” as a United States government agent. It’s action packed from start to finish with edge of seat heart pounding racing. Good enough for No. 3 on this list.

4. Fast and Furious 6 (2013)
Rating- 3.5/5
The newest of the franchise. It was good with unbelievable special effects but not without flaws. The problem with this movie is it tries to combine the characters from every other movie into just this one. And unfortunately that’s just not possible without sacrifice. Hans character (played by Sung Kang) doesn’t say a word the entire movie. There’s just not enough room for that many main characters in a basic two hour movie. Still good though.

5. 2 fast 2 Furious (2003)
Rating- 3/5
This was the comedy of the series. It wasn’t great but it was average. It also gave us the memorable scene where Brian jumps his car into the boat. Tyrese Gibson plays Roman Pearce because Vin Diesel didn’t appear. Gibson does a good job and the street racing scenes are good. But in the end it’s not the same without Dominic Toretto.

6. Fast and Furious (2009)
Rating- 2/5
The worst movie of the series without a doubt. It currently has the worst reception on rotten tomatoes out of any of the six movies with a 27% approval. It’s the only movie out of the six where I can actually say “I was bored.” Part four does no justice to the others. Basically in a nutshell Dominic looks for his girlfriend and Brian looks for a drug dealer (Braga) the entire time. Complete “snoozfest” in my opinion.
