Fall is an exciting time of year for TV fanatics, September and October are full of highly anticipated new TV series and season premieres of some of our old favorites. Social networking sites like Twitter and Tumblr are already buzzing with promo videos and behind-the-scene photos of some of the highly anticipated fall premieres. Here is a list of five TV shows I can’t wait to watch this fall.
I am a huge fan of ABC Family’s hit show Pretty Little Liars, so naturally I am counting down the days until the Pretty Little Liars spinoff Ravenswood premieres this Fall. One of Pretty Little Liars popular characters Caleb Rivers (Tyler Blackburn) is moving to the creepy town of Ravenswood. There isn’t a whole lot of information out about the new series, but it is supposed to be a lot like Pretty Little Liars, but with a supernatural twist. Ravenswood is set to air on October 22 at 9 p.m. on ABC Family, following the Pretty Little Liars Halloween special.
Speaking of spinoffs, I am also very excited to watch the premiere of The Vampire Diaries spinoff, The Originals on The CW. Klaus and his family, The Originals, are moving to New Orleans to try to regain control of the city they used to rule. Klaus’s plans are slightly derailed when he arrives in New Orleans and finds out he has a baby on the way (the effect of a one-night stand with a werewolf), and he discovers his former protégé Marcel has taken control of the city. Klaus was one of my favorite characters on The Vampire Diaries, so I am excited that he is getting his own spinoff and storyline.
The Vampire Diaries
Considering how excited I am for the upcoming Vampire Diaries spinoff, it should come as no surprise that I am also really looking forward to the premiere of the 5th season of The Vampire Diaries. According to recent promo videos that were released, the doppelganger drama in Mystic Falls is far from over, Silas is running around impersonating Stefan while he sits in a locked box in the bottom of the ocean. And Katherine is back, and human. There are also supposed to be a ton of new characters coming to The Vampire Diaries cast seeing as how Caroline and Elena are starting their freshman year of college and have a slew of new classmates and teachers.
Hart of Dixie
One night this summer, out of pure boredom, I began binge-watching Hart of Dixie on Netflix. The series isn’t really something I would normally watch, but I decided to give it a shot. And I fell in love with it! I love the town of Bluebell where the series takes place; it’s so southern and country, and it really makes me miss my rural upbringing. Rachel Bilson (Zoe Hart) really brings the show to life. I never realized how quirky and funny she can be. I can’t wait to watch the Season 3 premiere of Hart of Dixie on The CW because I am dying to see if Zoe returns to Bluebell and whether or not she gets back together with her ex-boyfriend Wade.
Witches of East End
I love television shows about witches; unfortunately, they never seem to bring in enough ratings to stick around. (I am still mourning the cancellation of The Secret Circle on The CW.) I can’t wait to watch Lifetime’s new series Witches of East End. According to the promos that have been released by Lifetime, Witches of East End is the story of two sisters living in North Hampton who find out they come from a long line of witches. Witches of East End is set to premiere on Sunday, October 6.
