Five Ways to Decorate Your Apartment with Unique Plants for Fall

by fat vox

During the Fall season there are a lot of different ways you can decorate your home. Natural plants that thrive during the fall season is just one way to add color to the inside of your home during the Fall season. So what types of plants should you add to your home, and how should you arrange them? Below you will find five ideas that I have found to be helpful when it comes to changing your apartments decor by using plants.

1. One pot garden

Start by making a one pot garden that can sit inside of your home. To get started all you need is a large pot, that you can fill with treated soil. Then you can plant a nice variety of plants into the one pot. The one large pot can be placed in an area of your home that receives some natural sun light. Try to use plants that don’t require a lot of sun light.

2. Choose the right plants

Start by choosing the right type of plants, such as Cacti. These plants don’t require a lot of personal care and don’t need a lot of sunlight. If you are looking for a plant that is easy to care for and will add a nice look to your home try these. There are plenty of other plants that are perfect indoors as well, so be sure to do your research. Before you decide which plant to use you may want to take into consideration how it would affect any animals you have in the home or any young children.

3. Go with vegetables

You can also choose to go with vegetables in your indoor garden. There are some vegetables such as lettuce which will grow nicely in containers. A large enough pot that will allow at least 8 inches of soil to be in the pot will do nicely. Not only will it cause your home to look nice as it grows, it will save you money since it will be edible. Herbs are especially nice to grow in container inside of the home, since they give the home a nice natural scent.

4. Use Window Sills

You can use window sills to hold smaller sized plants and containers. Herbs such as Rosemary is really a good idea. Not only do they look really nice, but they will certainly add a splash of color to your home. You can use different colored pots, or have your kids decorate the pots per their own personal liking.

5. Bring the outdoor indoor

If you happen to have any outdoor plants, why not bring them inside. Many outdoor plants will not survive the winter months. If you bring them indoors however, and make sure that they still get plenty of natural light, you may be able to use them as an indoor decoration until spring.
