It’s the Great Pumpkin Charlie Brown (1966)
This Halloween favorite is based on the “Peanuts” comic strip by Charles M. Schulz. Since it was first shown in 1966, it has become a holiday favorite. In this animated film, Linus is anxiously awaiting the arrival of “The Great Pumpkin”. He goes to the pumpkin patch to wait for his arrival. Charlie Brown and his sister Sally are headed to Violet’s Halloween party. On the way, they stop by the pumpkin patch and talk to Linus. Linus convinces Sally to wait for “The Great Pumpkin” with him. Charlie Brown goes to the party alone and suffers through another humiliating Halloween. In the meantime, Snoopy is off having his own adventure as a World War I airplane fighter. “It’s the Great Pumpkin Charlie Brown” is a must see Halloween movie for the whole family.
Tim Burton’s The Nightmare Before Christmas (1993)
Jack Skellington is the misguided star of “The Nightmare Before Christmas”. Jack is the “The Pumpkin King” in a magical place called “Halloween Town”. “Halloween Town” is filled with all the creatures that make Halloween fun like ghosts, witches, mad scientists, and little demon children. One day, Jack gets bored with the things of “Halloween Town”. He goes off into the woods to think. While there, he accidentally opens a portal to “Christmas Town”. Jack explores “Christmas Town” and falls in love with Christmas. He then decides to be Santa Claus instead of “The Pumpkin King”.
Jack Skellington has Lock, Shock and Barrel, mischievous kids form “Halloween Town” to abduct Santa and bring him back to “Halloween Town”. The kids capture Santa Claus and deliver him to Oogie Boogie, the bogeyman. On Christmas Eve, Jack pretends to be Santa Claus and heads off to “Christmas Town” to deliver toys. The results are disastrous. This movie is not your regular Halloween story. “The Nightmare Before Christmas” provides a fun and exciting twist to Halloween that both you and your children will love.
Monster House (2006)
The town is haunted by a demon house and its owner, Nebbercracker. Nebbercracker has been terrorizing the town’s children for years by taking any and all toys that land in his yard. DJ Walter and his friends, Chowder and Jenny Bennett, are determined to find out the truth about Mr. Nebbercracker and his mysterious house. They spy on the house, and soon discover the terrible secret of the “monster house”.
