Blackheads and whiteheads are stubborn blemish stuck deep in the pores of our. They can sometimes be hard to remove even with the help of blackhead removal strips you get at the drugstore. This is why I make and use my own warming blackhead and whitehead removal mask instead. It provides soothing warm comfort to the skin while clinging to the black and whiteheads naturally so when the mask is removed the heads are removed right along with it.
Necessary Ingredients for the Mask
The ingredients needed for the mask are French clay for purifying the skin from blackheads and whiteheads, cayenne essential oil for providing warmth and comfort to the skin, aloe juice for healing and soothing and vitamin E oil for replenishing and nourishing the skin back to youthful beauty and health. The ingredients I purchase from my local herbal shop, but you should be able to find them in spa shops, whole food grocery stores and your own local herbal shops as well.
Creating the Warming Black and Whitehead Removal Mask
To create the warming black and whitehead removal mask you will need to combine a cup of French clay powder with a drop of cayenne oil, a forth cup of aloe juice and a tablespoon of vitamin E oil. You will combine the mask in a glass bowl using a plastic spoon until you get a creamy thick facial mask. However, if you find the mask is too runny in texture you will need to add more French clay until it thickens. If you find the mask is too thick, you will need to add more aloe juice.
However, never add more cayenne oil to help thin out a thick mask because it contains a potent medicinal properties in it that can cause skin burns. Using the oil in proper amount in this facial mask is essential to prevent your skin from burning. You want your mask to feel soothing and warm to the skin without burning it.
Once the mask is creamy, thick and warm in texture it is time to scoop it into a jar and seal it up tight with a lid until you are ready to use it. However, it is best to use the mask within two weeks of making it for best results. Although, I will say I use the mask right away after it is made because I find it is most effective when it is freshly made.
Using the Mask
When you are ready to use the warming black and whitehead removal mask, simply apply a nice thick even layer to freshly cleansed and well-exfoliated skin using your fingertips, but avoid the eye areas. Before I use the mask I always like to use a steamy facial to help open up the pores. I find this helps the mask get deep down into the pores and cling to the dead skin, bacteria and oils that are causing the heads to begin with.
After, leave the mask on for about twenty minutes. Sometimes I like to leave the mask on for thirty, but this is too long for some people with sensitive skin types.
If you find the mask is irritating to the skin within the first five minutes go ahead, remove the mask, and do not use it again. However, if the mask is soothing and warming enjoy the sensation as the clay purifies the skin, the cayenne oil reduces inflammation and soreness related to blemishes and the aloe and vitamin E in the mask bring comfort, nourishment and healing to the skin naturally.
Once the twenty minutes is up, wash the mask off with a warm wet cloth and plenty of fresh warm water. After, apply a nourishing facial cream to help further nourish and protect the skin naturally. Then, enjoy a black and whitehead free complexion.
Bottom Line
To help keep stubborn black and whiteheads away from the skin, use the mask at least twice a week. However, those of you sensitive to cayenne should not use this facial mask to rid blackheads and whiteheads naturally. Since I have been using the mask, I have experienced no serious side effects. The mask does tend to leave my skin slightly red after washing it off, but the redness goes away within five minutes and my skin is bright, clean and healthy looking and feeling. I hope those of you who make and use this mask find it just as wonderful.
