Why build a home studio?
Music is special, because it is loved and enjoyed by people all around the world. Every culture has its own version of music. Even before children can speak, many of them learn to dance. Music just makes people feel happy, and it is certainly deeply rooted in all of us.
Many people dream of becoming famous recording artists. It is a lifestyle that a lot of folks would love to live. Today it has become a lot easier to at least give it a try. Building a home studio will give someone the chance to create amazing quality music. At the very least, they will at least be able to impress their friends and family members.
Building the studio
Building a recording studio in your home will obviously require some money. Ideally, $1,000 is plenty to get started. The basic items to purchase include: a computer, a microphone, basic hardware, and recording software. The computer will be the most important piece of equipment, and $500 is a reasonable price to spend. Try to get one with a fast processor and a lot of space to store files.
It is highly recommended to get a condenser microphone that connects via XML rather than USB. One can be purchased for about $100. USB microphones are decent, but not good enough for someone who wants to get high quality sound. Condenser microphones require some hardware to hook up to the computer, but this will cost under $200. A microphone stand and other accessories can be purchased for under $100.
Having a microphone and a computer won’t be enough to start recording music. At some point, you will need to purchase recording software. There are free programs that can be downloaded legally online, but $100 should be more than enough to get buy pretty good software to start recording with.
Once you have your home recording studio built, you can begin making music. It is best to set up the microphone and its accompanying hardware to the computer first. After that, install the recording software on the computer. Learn as much as you can about how the software works, and experiment with recording vocals and editing them. You will soon be ready to start recording songs in your brand new home recording studio that cost you under $1,000 to build.
