Creating a backyard meditation garden is simple, and fun. Meditation is a great tool to get rid yourself of unwanted stress. Meditation alone is great, but having a backyard oasis to meditate in, helps alleviate more stress. No, you don’t have to be a Landscaper, you just need to learn a couple of step to guide you through the process. I put together a step be step guide, and a list of supplies you will need. Most people already have some of the supplies, but you can find the rest of the supplies, at your local hardware store. Now you are ready to build your backyard meditation garden.
Step 1: You want to pick out a spot to put a garden. Try to find a spot that’s comfortable with, no bumpy spots that will be uncomfortable to sit. You may want to pick an area that will drain water away from the place you will be sitting.
Step 2: Pick a theme for the backyard meditation garden. A theme is an idea of how it will look.. Examples would be, beach themed, Zen themed, and fairy themed. In a beach themed garden, you might have things that you collected from the beach or buy them from a craft store. A Zen themed garden might have a box of sand, with a small rake, and a couple of stones. Fairy themed is my favorite. With a fairy themed oasis, try placing lots of flowers, crystals, and some glitter.
Step 3: Pick out some flowers and plants for replanting. Collect some rocks to fit in the garden, to give it a more natural look. Try the local greenhouse or gardening store to find plants, and rocks.
Step 4: In this step, you want to do a design lay out for the type of theme chosen. All you will need is a pen, paper, and an idea. You don’t need to be an artist to do this. You can look for some pictures online to get an idea.
Step 5 : Now you are ready to plant. You can follow any picture or drawing you made. Place the rocks after doing the layout, and planting the flowers. I would suggest replanting instead of growing plants from seeds, because the plants will take time to grow.
Another great idea is to add some crystals, statues, and religious items. As I said, it’s your backyard meditation garden, so make it your own. You could add ponds or fountains, Water always adds a beautiful twist to any meditation garden. However, doing this can get expensive. you may also have to run an extension cord if you plan to use music or have running water. After you are done your garden oasis, you are ready to meditate in your own backyard meditation garden. Have fun!
