How to Decorate Your Lawn for Halloween

by fat vox

It’s October and Halloween is around the corner. It is time to get ideas, inspirations to decorate your house, interior and exterior, and don’t forget about your lawn. If your theme of Halloween this year is to create a scary, spooky and creepy look, then the following buying-guide might be helpful for you.

Something mysterious…

1. Flaming Pumpkin ($59.99) from grandinroad.com
With a glossy black exterior and an interior that glows with moving flames, this flaming pumpkin sure will add a spooky touch to your lawn. With the exterior being black, when it is placed outside in the dark, our eyes will not see the pumpkin but the evil face is lit up by the flame. Nothing could be spookier than this.

Something spooky…

2. Set of three staked Halloween witches ($69.99) from grandinroad.com
Talking about scary, spooky and mysterious decorations, you cannot miss out some witches to be on your lawn. Imagine yourself, passing your lawn to find the quickest way to get to your door, and suddenly, your arm touches something that makes you turn around to look. And bam! These three scary witches seem to be floating somehow on your lawn and with a scary smile on their faces looking at you. I bet you would have to run as quick as you can to your door and get inside the house. This is the exact decoration that you would need if you would like to turn your beautiful lawn into a scary lawn that would make visitors think twice before getting close to have a look.

Something creepy…

3. Zombie with light and sound ($59.99) from grandinroad.com
This zombie will be one of the traffic stopper if you place it on your front lawn, trust me. The expression on its face and to the smallest details on the clothes, this zombie looks like it is coming to live when it is turned on. This is not one of those flimsy zombies that you usually see. Even though this one does have sound and light, but it does not hurt to add some white strobe light or spot light above it, to illuminate the effect that it is crawling up on your lawn. It sure is one creepy piece that you will make use of for at least several years.

4. Tombstone Decoration Set 4ct ($9.99) from PartyCity.com
Don’t forget to grab at least a set of the tombstones. Let’s be honest here, zombies do not just craw up from under the ground. It has got to be coming from a cemetery somewhere. While this set is quite affordable, compare with other items, you might want to get a few of these to create that scary, spooky, and creepy effect for your lawn.

With those above items, I am sure you will have one of the scariest looking lawn in your neighborhood. But if you would like to take an extra step to take your lawn to the next level, you might want to consider the fog machine below:

Something to bind all the above together…

5. 400-watt Fun Fog Machine ($39.99) from grandiroad.com

You might think that this might be too over the top. But really, for $39.99, this fog machine will help make your lawn look even spookier (if that’s what you’re hoping for). With the fog machine, it will give you a foggy look on your lawn, making it look mysterious and as if anything could come out from the fog. This is the key factor in making the scariest looking lawn on your neighborhood.

If you plan to host a Halloween party and scare your friends at your house, don’t forget to get these items to make your lawn stand out, make it to be the one and only that could scare everyone that comes to your house. Halloween would not be Halloween if none of your decorations scare anyone. Have a better idea for decorating a scary looking lawn, share it with me in your comments!
