Smell is linked to our sense of Taste. You can easily understand this connection if you try to taste some food with your nostrils closed. Having a good sense of Smell can help you recognize good drinks and foods (e.g. wine, tea) and give you the pleasure of identifying their various odors.
But I guess you also want to be revived by the smell of a flower, enjoy smelling someone’s skin etc. This is why it is good to have an improved sense of Smell, So, without further delay let’s begin revealing the improvement secrets/steps/tips…
Avoid bad smells!
If you expose yourself to any stink for more than 5-10′ minutes you will somewhat get used to it but this will reduce your smelling abilities. If the bad odor is strong it will totally numb your Smell!
Try to keep a clear atmosphere in the place where you spend most of your time during the day.
Exercise, go for a walk in the park or near nature.
Do you know what recent studies are telling us? That our sense of smell is much stronger after some exercise or after we spend some time in a place near nature with clear air and positive, natural energy.
So, if you want to improve your Smell, you have another really great reason to stay fit! Do not be afraid of exercise. If so, make it a habit to simply walk in the park (keep a steady pace).
Become an expert in smelling!
At times (or all the time if you get used to it), try to identify every single smell that your nostrils “catch”. For best results take short sniffs instead of one long sniff.
You have definitely watched dogs and cats do this when they smell something. Learning to take short sniffs will increase your overall smelling ability.
Buy food that smells nice.
When it comes to food that is not packed you can smell it (taking short sniffs). You will notice that you like to eat the things you enjoy smelling! So shop these foods that smell nice to you. For packed food, you can perform the smelling procedure when you open the pack at home.
When shopping you can identify the best food combinations (e.g. bread with cheese) by smelling both of the items if possible and find which combination has the ideal scent.
Choose the right medicine!
First of all the general advice is to consult a doctor before taking any medication, supplement or vitamin. But if you have the option to choose (e.g. choose flavor) you can try to smell the medicines and choose the aromas you like the most.
This works by even smelling the bottle without opening it! If you are somewhat experienced in smelling things you will easily identify what vitamin or medicine is the right (or more pleasant) to you.
And that’s all the steps that will definitely improve your ability to smell…
