One of the newest heroes available in the Facebook game Marvel: Avengers Alliance is Vision. In order to obtain Vision, you need to complete all 25 tasks of Special Operation 8. This is no easy task, especially since you must complete all of these tasks by April 29, 2013. If you are trying to obtain Vision, this guide will help you get him in the allotted time.
Tasks 1-3: The first three tasks are easy to accomplish. You need to simply defeat 5 R.A.I.D. soldiers in mission 1, then complete a deploy, and then defeat a mini-boss in mission 1. While completing for the first task, avoid fighting Exoskeletal Battletanks. You can and should do the deploy in a normal mission. Finally, face whichever mini-boss appears first.
Tasks 4-5: There are not enough Exoskelatal Battletanks in mission 1 to complete the fourth task before facing the boss of mission 1. This means you will have to do all of mission 1 a second time in order to defeat Vision and complete task 5. Since you have to do it twice anyway, try to maximize points for future tasks.
Task 6: This task is a research task that will take 8 hours. If possible, try to time it so you do it overnight and don’t waste time.
Task 7: Task 7 introduces the Group Boss Ultron. He will appear in your Special Operations missions. Since only mission 1 is unlocked right now, that is where he appears. You will need to fight him one time for this task. Once you have fought him you can abort the mission for no loss or complete it for points that will help you in future tasks.
Tasks 8-10: To complete task 8, you need to defeat both mini-bosses in mission 2. If you complete two deploys in mission 2, you can three-bird the boss and complete this task at the same time. As soon as you complete this task, unless you scored very low while doing tasks 1-5, you should immediately complete task 9 for having 2-starred mission 1. Then, you have two choices. If you own Quicksilver, use his 1st attack power five times in any mission. If you don’t, restart mission 2 and fight Vapor. You will team up with Quicksilver and can use his attack in that fight. As a warning, Vapor is very tough and takes little damage from Quicksilver. Bring another scrapper to the fight and don’t bring any tacticians.
Task 11: Task 11 is another research task and this one takes a full day.
Tasks 12-14: Task 12 requires that you participate in PvP 5 times. This doesn’t cost energy, so is rather easy. Just make sure you have 5 challenge points when the research is complete. To complete task 13, you need to defeat the boss of mission 2. Finally, task 14 requires you to defeat 15 A.I.M. soldiers in mission 2, which requires you to defeat almost every threat in the mission. This will be your third time doing mission 2, but will make later tasks easier.
Task 15: Task 15 is impossible if you don’t have friends who play the game and difficult unless you have a number of friends who are actively doing the Special Operation. You need to fight Ultron when visiting your friends. You can tell that Ultron is available to be fought there because your friend’s icon will be combined with an icon of Ultron. Do this three times and you complete the mission. Alternately, you can spend 20 gold to skip the mission.
Task 16: This task is the final research task of Special Operation 8. It will take 2 days to complete. Between this and waiting for Ultron to appear on your friends’ pages, these two tasks can easily take a week or so. Make sure to collect lots of ISO-8s while waiting them out.
Tasks 17 – 21: It will take two runs of mission 3 to complete task 17. At most you can face 7 prime sentinels in mission 3 and you need to defeat 8 to complete this task. On your second run, complete any deploys you can in order to unlock threats without having to face mini-bosses. As soon as you complete task 17, you should automatically complete task 18, which requires that you have 2-starred mission 2. Fight the Crimson Cowl and use Vision’s Solar Jewel power three times during the fight to complete the next task. Then win 3 PvP battles. This could take a while if you don’t have a good PvP team. Finally, you need to use Omega’s Plasma Knife ability five times to complete task 21. You can do this by fighting Crimson Dynamo.
Task 22: In order to complete task 22, you need to get 5 Omega Lockboxes. If you have followed this guide, you should need to defeat 3 more Exoskeletal Battletanks in order to complete the third sidequest task and earn 24 lockboxes. Play through mission 1 once and you will complete this mission.
Tasks 23-24: Defeat Ultron Prime in mission 3 to complete task 23. Then, to complete task 24, you need to 3-star all three missions. You may already have done that. If not, you probably are very close and just need to run mission 3 one more time.
Task 25: Task 25 requires you to defeat the epic boss of mission 1. To make the epic boss appear, you need to complete every threat and every deploy. The deploys require Psylocke, Captain Britain, and Black Knight. These three heroes cost 315 command points, or 180 command points if you won Psylocke in the PvP tournament. If you don’t have these heroes and can’t afford to buy them, you can skip this task with 25 gold.
