With the newest expansion for World of Warcraft slowly looming on the horizon, many players are wondering what they can do to prepare themselves for it. Although Warlords of Draenor will not be released for some time, now that it has been announced it is not too early to begin readying and planning for when it does release. In fact, the more time you have to get ready, the better.
Depending on what your plans are for the next expansion what you will need to do to prepare for it will differ. However, in this guide I will list all the different ways you can prepare to account for any and all playstyles.
Stocking up on materials
With the launch of every new expansion a plethora of new materials are added. Because of this, a lot of the older materials from the previous and older expansions go up in price as not as many players are gathering them.
Whether you plan to sell them for a large profit or use them yourself, collecting materials from the current expansion is a great idea.
If you do plan on selling the materials, I recommend waiting a couple weeks after Warlords of Draenor is released as that will be around the time people are leveling other characters and will need the older materials for their professions. If you time your sales for this period, you will no-doubt make a lot of gold.
Finding a guild
If you don’t already have a good guild that you’re happy with, now is a great time to find one so you can be prepared when Warlords of Draenor is released.
As Mists of Pandaria is coming to a close, most guilds are getting ready for what’s next, and because of that many of them will be looking for new members to tackle the new content in Warlords of Draenor.
Both PvE and PvP guilds will be recruiting around this time, but especially PvE guilds as they will be preparing for the new raids coming in the next expansion and will most likely need new members to fill raid spots.
Leveling professions
If you don’t already have your professions at max level, now is a great time to get them up to par. Since players have been gathering the same materials for the entire expansion, a lot of what you will need should be quite cheap for the time being.
Once you have your professions maxed for the current content, you will be ready straight away for Warlords of Draenor once it is released.
Leveling alts
Have any other characters you’ve been neglecting to level? Or maybe a different class you want to try playing? If so, now is a great time to level alts. With the lull in-between now and when Warlords of Draenor is released, there wont be much new content, so you will have plenty of time for other characters. And who knows, you might even decide to make a different class your main for the new expansion.
Pet battles
If pet battles are your thing, then you will want to catch up before the next expansion. Likewise, if you’ve never tried pet battles before, now is a good time to as you will have plenty of time before Warlords of Draenor is released.
In order to get ready for Warlords of Draenor, you will want to make sure your main pets are all at max level and that you’ve already captured all the pets you need to from Pandaria. This way, all you will have to worry about are catching the new pets that will be added instead of having to go back and forth, catching the ones you missed.
