For years, the hallmark of the Weight Watchers weight loss program has been keeping close track of everything you eat or drink. Within the past decade, this process has been made a lot easier thanks to the Points system. Now, tracking your food is as simple as figuring out the number of Weight Watchers Points values in a food and keeping track of just one number throughout the day. The newest version of the Weight Watchers plan, called PointsPlus, also allows you to earn bonus food points by exercising and staying physically active.
Until recently, the only way to track Weight Watchers activity points was by manually entering your physical activity on the website or on your paper tracker. Recently, however, Weight Watchers introduced a much more technologically advanced way to track activity points called ActiveLink The ActiveLink is a small, keychain sized device that you carry around with you each day as much as possible. A special accelerometer inside the ActiveLink device records all of your physical movement, and this data is then uploaded to the Weight Watchers website and is automatically tracked as activity points on your weight loss plan.
The whole process is very neat, and the company says that the ActiveLink device is the most accurate way to track activity points that they have ever offered. To get started tracking your activity points using ActiveLink, you first need to make sure you have a paid membership to the Weight Watchers website. This means you can either be an online-only Weight Watchers member, or you can be a “meetings member” who also subscribes to Weight Watchers eTools. Once you can access the website, you’ll need to purchase an ActiveLink device. It is important to note that a used device will not work for a new activation, so first-time users will need to purchase a brand new device from the website or their meeting location.
Once you have purchased your ActiveLink device, you are ready to get started. You will go to the ActiveLink website and download the desktop software, a process that should be familiar to even novice computer users. Once the software is installed, just plug the ActiveLink device into any available USB port on your computer, and the activation process will automatically begin. You will be prompted to answer some questions about your activity level, as well as where you plan to wear the device on your body. Just follow the on-screen prompts to complete the process, then begin wearing the Active Link monitor everywhere you go.
Now, at least a few times a week, you’ll need to reconnect your ActiveLink device to your computer. This will automatically upload your data to the Weight Watchers website and will also keep the battery charged and ready to go. You really can forget about your activity points once you get the ActiveLink, resting assured that this little device is tracking all of your movement and crediting you with the appropriate number of points. Weight watchers really has never been so easy!
