Many of you may know of Ryan Innes from his run on popular television competition “The Voice”, where he was just cut short of a spot on Usher’s live team. Just because he missed the mark doesn’t mean he doesn’t deliver the goods. What Innes has is something that goes beyond what a typical reality show contestant has in terms of stage presence and moxie. With that, it needs not be said to get across that Ryan Innes is far more than just another offed early favorite on “The Voice”. He is a true artist with an impeccable blue-eyed soul that will carry him through his life just fine.
This much is reflected just within his few performances available to watch on YouTube or purchase on iTunes from the show. His initial audition on the show performing “Gravity” by Sara Bareilles built up into a stellar showing of the Bill Withers classic “Ain’t No Sunshine”, where he beat out fellow Team Usher hopeful Orlando Dixon for a spot in the Knockout Rounds, where he was, arguably, unjustly eliminated. Even with that in tow, however, it is clear that Innes, with his genuine, heartfelt brand of soul, will be just fine.
Make sure to check out Ryan’s self-titled debut EP released in 2010, which was well before his “Voice” run, where his believable, soulful sound is set on full display. It features a stellar cover of Ray Charles’s standard, “Georgia On My Mind”, which you can listen to a live performance of here. His song-writing skills are also set on display with songs like the catchy and sweet “Call to Arms” and “Colors”, where Innes reveals his ability to effectively tell a story in full. You can purchase his EP, which features five tracks in total, on iTunes for only $4.95.
Innes is currently preparing to show off his incredible talent in the form of an upcoming concert in Phoenix, Arizona. The show will also feature Midas Whale, who are currently preparing to launch a debut album of their own. Also performing will be stellar vocalist Amy Whitcomb, who you may know better as the front-woman of “The Sing-Off” a cappella group, Delilah, who is now branching out to do her own solo thing, and Phoenix-based singer-songwriter Colton Avery. The concert is set for June 27th at Rhythm Room. You can buy your tickets here, from Ryan’s official Songkick page.
