I wanted to write this article to take the worries of webmasters out of their shoulders. So here it is. You see most webmasters are bothered to get as much visitors to their website as possible in order to achieve their goals (make sales, get ad clicks, attract prospects etc.). But is quantity what a webmaster really needs in order to succeed online?
I want to ask you a question and please answer with every sincerity…
How important is website traffic for your online success? Give me answer on a scale from 1 to 5 where 5 is “highly important” and 1 is “not really important.”
I know most webmasters or site owners will answer 5, traffic is highly important to my online success. Yeap, I know that 99% of you will rate traffic as super crucial. And indeed traffic is very important. How else could you survive in the cruel online world? How else could you be able to grow your online business?
I, however rate traffic with 3! Yes, it is important but there are other more important factors for the success of my online business.
I also rate product quality with three! I also rate conversions on my site with three! Yes these are super crucial factors for my online success but they are not the most important ones!
So, what is my “5” on the importance scale? Actually its not just one factor but three:
[1] Market knowledge
[2] Correct Mindset
[3] Prosperous Habits
Yes. I am revealing my top-3 factors that I consider highly important for the success of my online business. I know that it is not what you expected to read but believe me if you don’t emphasize on the above 3 factors then you have less chances to make it big online and you may as well stop reading now and go find some other article talking about quick (but temporal) riches and magic button software.
Why do I emphasize to these 3 factors to guarantee success of my online business?
Because when I have perfect knowledge of my market, when I have the right mindset and have developed success habits, then and only then I will be able to generate as much tightly targeted traffic to my websites as I want. And by “tightly targeted traffic”, I mean people who are eager to see the contents of my sites, purchase my products, become members of my mailing list, you name it.
If I have mastered the above three (usually unmentioned) factors, I will be able to generate new ideas for traffic and answer any traffic question I will face. I will become my own traffic generation machine! This is why I consider the three factors far more important than quality backlinks with good anchor text for example (which, by the way, are also important success factors for a website).
