Kim Kardashian and Kate Middleton have been hotly compared in the media over the past year. Why, you ask? It appears that the celebrity diva, Kim, has been in the duchess’ footsteps when it comes to certain important milestones. Weddings at the same time. Babies due at similar times. One might question, does Kim want to outshine this queen to be, or is this all just simply a coincidence?
As Kate Middleton made a grand entrance and won the hearts of many on her wedding day to Prince William, Kim’s wedding to NBA player, Kris Humphries, was not far behind. These were the two most popular weddings of 2012. While some preferred to watch a classy royal wedding, others preferred to watch an over-the-top reality star wedding. The cost and the lavishness of Kim’s wedding was speculated to be competing with the royal wedding, two different events that one could not possibly compare; however, many wondered if Kimmy was competing to have top status. Critics stated how they though Kim wanted her wedding to be the best, better than the royal wedding. She surely made an attempt to outdo the royal wedding, walking down the aisle adorned in diamonds and glittering as if she was a princess. The show that Kim put on and the close timing of her wedding to the royals had many news reporters and Kardashian haters looking to criticize and call her a copycat.
Flash forward a year later, and both Kim and Kate are now pregnant at the same time. Kim is separated from Kris and is having the baby with beau, Kanye West. Both of these stars (of a different caliber) are closing in on their due date, making fans and those who do not love Kim so much, wonder who will have the more fabulous baby. Is Kim’s child strategically timed to compete with the royal heir. In reality, this all is silly, but the entertain blogs and television shows have been comparing Kim and Kate with everything from their pregnancy fashion to which baby will be more popular in the tabloids.
Regardless of which baby is most loved, both will be heirs to large fortunes. While one might be more noble, the Kimye baby will certainly have a name to uphold. Only time will tell what these baby’s fates are and who will be the little sweetheart of the media. What do you think, is Kim trying to compete with Kate, or is this a media fabrication? Are little forward to meeting little Kimye or the royal baby more?!
