When it comes to fashion, it’s about look and value. You don’t ever want to pay too much, but you also don’t want to look like a pauper if you go really cheap. In this specific day and age, value carries an awful lot of weight, so getting a great deal on clothes and shoes can mean everything, particularly for young men.
With the Back-to-School campaigns and the seasonal fall fashions already in full effect, either you’re looking to get great looks for your young teens or you may be doing the shopping for yourself before you hit campus (again). For young men, it’s important to remember that it doesn’t cost a king’s ransom to look good, feel good, and do the wallet good in the process. It’s all about what’s good for you and what works best, and clothier 20JEANS and footwear maker Creative Recreation know all about the best, especially for fall fashions.
20JEANS, a Los Angeles-based company, is about making sure that young men can look like they walked straight off of the runway for an attractive deal — the vast majority of all 20JEANS’ fashions are just $20, and the great thing is that 20JEANS specializes in a variety of styles, but includes two of the most important staples of the moment, which are skinny jeans and v-neck tees.
If you’re looking for a good skinny jean, 20JEANS is the right place to go. What I love about 20JEANS’ Polychrom Skinny Jeans — pictured here — are that they are tight to the leg, but easily stretchable, so they are forgiving and allow you to cut a great shape without having any discomfort, particularly in the thighs and crotch. The cotton fabric is smooth and easy on the skin and feels great in all seasons. Not many skinny jeans can be said to be particularly comfortable, but 20JEANS hasn’t only struck gold; it’s made its own gold.
Another 20JEANS gem is their Antimatter V-Neck Tee. It fits like a second skin, which is perfect if you desire a shirt that flatters your torso and also eschews bagginess for a slim fit. The Antimatter tee — also pictured here — is one of the best v-neck shirts you can find, and it has my vote as an ideal part of the wardrobe. Several of these high-quality shirts are ideal to have for casual days or even dressed up a bit for open-collared shirts or blazers.
What I appreciate most about 20JEANS is that they make the basics the stars of your show. As a man, it’s difficult to really get good quality basics that really have a bit of pizzazz and showmanship, but they can also be affordable. It’s usually a trade-off between price and quality, but you don’t have to make that choice with 20JEANS
As for shoes, so many different kinds are in vogue today, but Creative Recreation always makes the kind that are fashion-forward and built specifically for casual and streetwear. Like low-cut shoes? Try the Cesario Low X. A shoe that’s inspired by some of the retro basketball shoes of the late 1980s, the Cesario makes good on style points with its perforated toebox, forefoot strap, and low-profile design, making it versatile enough to wear around during school hours, around town, and for those after-hours parties and get-togethers that require a bit of class come with. Prefer a high-top sneaker? The Cota is up to the task as well, offering an exaggerated high ankle collar that’s plushly padded, ballistic nylon mesh, and a midfoot strap to lock your foot in. Both the Cesario and the Cota — both visible in great detail here — utilize vulcanized soles, which I have found to provide great comfort, no matter how long you’re in your shoes.
With Creative Recreation’s shoes, particularly the ones aforementioned, they aren’t trying to be anything more or anything less than what they aim to be. Often, many sneakers are geared for doing many things that aren’t actually capitalized on, but I like that the Cesario and Cota are made for the casual moments exclusively, and it makes the design of those shoes even stronger, because there’s no half-stepping in what they’re made for — namely, relaxing.
Between those few pairs of skinny jeans, v-necks, and a good pair of low-top or high-top shoes all aforementioned above, you can really be set for the fall and be able to afford the essentials in your life for yourself or your child, and not have to apply for a loan to get food and water.
