Sahra Spa and Hammam, the 43,000-square-foot tranquil oasis at The Cosmopolitan, exudes a certain form of oneness with Las Vegas’ natural beauty. This premier spa destination draws inspiration from the elements of the region’s surrounding canyons and desert lands.
Mood and Atmosphere
From the reception area, a long earthy entryway filled with 420 tons of sandstone lining mimics the beauty of the Red Rock Canyon in a small indoor scale. Glimpses of silver around the sophisticated facility showcases the naturally occurring precious metal and mineral deposits Nevada is known for. The sound of bubbling water running through artesian wells echo a sense of tranquility, which is essential in bringing the city’s exhausted travelers and wasted partygoers to a meditative, reflective or nourishing state.
As one of the few genuine hammams in North America, Sahra Spa and Hammam radiates a very Turkish feel throughout. It features signature hammam treatments including whole body detoxification systems, steam treatments and cooling baths. The 2.5-hour flagship treatment called Sahra Journey promotes a number of distinctive cleansing, purifying and exfoliating methods to nourish the mind and body.
The stone hammam in the 1,200-square-foot exclusive hammam facility serves as the area’s focal point. Guests can relax on heated stone loungers while waiting for treatment or get an invigorating scrub massage to complete a treatment. Separate alcoves for steam indulgence and cold water plunge pools are also available either for individual use or shared by up to four people.
Dozens of rooms and suites cater to a variety of regular and seasonal spa treatments including massages, body scrubs, steam and hydrating therapies and other pampering services.
Facilities and Amenities
After confirming one’s reservation number, gender preference on provider and requested treatment at the front desk, a representative awaits inside to offer guest expensive robe and footwear, give a quick tour of the place and provide instructions on how to use the keyless locker.
For the whole day, spa patrons can indulge in the separate men’s and women’s lounges with hot and cold mist rooms, vitality pools with experiential monsoon rain showers, wet lounges with meditation loungers, personal vanity and changing areas and relaxation spaces. It is easy to familiarize oneself with the facilities and amenities around.
The spa has 16 massage rooms, four body treatment rooms each with private steam showers, six skincare treatment rooms and two hydrotheraphy rooms. A specialty suite is available for those hosting exclusive spa parties and group pampering sessions. Guests can also check out the services of the property’s lavish salon called Violet Hour Hair, Nails and Beauty and the Sahra Fitness Center.
