With it being the Halloween time of the year again it is time to talk about the kind of decorations you are going to get for your yard. Decorating your yard is the best way to tell your neighborhood that you are excited and ready to go on the spookiest night of the year. What kinds of decorations should you choose? It really depends on the theme you are shooting for when it is all said and done.
If you are looking to scare the socks off the kids who come to your door, there are a couple of different ways you can go. My favorite is always setting up a little graveyard in one corner of the yard. There are any number of different fake graveyard and tombstone sets out there but the more realistic the stones the better. Inside this graveyard setup, go with something like the Grasslands Road Zombie Hand Stake Outdoor Halloween Decor . This is a realistic looking hand attached to a stake you can just stick in the ground. Put this hand right in front of one the grave stones and you will have a nice look of a corpse trying to get out of its grave.
In order to really bring the spook factor, you should set up a couple of giant spiderwebs on your front porch. Get yourself a nice fake giant spider to be hanging out nearby and the look will be complete. There are any number of realistic giant fake spiders out there that will give your neighbors and trick-or-treaters the willies.
The are some nice devices that will sit harmlessly on your front porch or by your walkway until someone ventures near it. My favorite this year is a spooky old-time telephone that rings when someone comes close. When they pick up the receiver, a growly old voice says one of a couple of different scary sayings.
Maybe you have some young kids in your house, or your neighborhood and you don’t want to scare anyone too bad. Instead of going for really scary themes in your lawn you can go for something Halloween themed that is cute and funny.
There are plenty of really good inflatables like a giant ghost or pumpkin that can give your lawn the Halloween feel. You can also go for something that serves as one of many decorations and actually has funtion. Something like the Airblown Inflatables Black Cat Archway works here. Trick-or-treaters will walk under the archway to get to your door and that means they arrive to ring the doorbell in style.
