Saran Wrap or other cling wrap
Have you decided, like many women, to start doing your own nail designs? It’s gotten so expensive to have them done, and there are so many beautiful designs that you can do yourself, it certainly makes sense to give up the salons. Sure, some fingernail designs are quite involved, or require you to be an artist, but many don’t. One design that will look like you had professionals working all day is Saran Wrap nails. Marbled nails are stunning and take about as much time as polishing your nails as you normally do.
So many nail designs require you to polish the nails, allow them to dry completely, tape off certain areas, polish again, and other time-consuming techniques. But Saran Wrap nails – or marbled nails – don’t ask you to do any work with tape. Since there are hundreds of marbled designs that you can create the look will become one of your very favorites. Choose to marble gold and white polish, silver and blue, red and green, black and red, or other paint combinations. They all look intriguing and gorgeous.
Don’t be surprised if people stop you to ask where you got your fingernails done. First, you have to get them done! Wad up 10 small piece of cling wrap; you’ll need them to complete the marbling technique. Start out with clean, dry nails, and apply a clear-coat base of polish. Allow it to dry and then apply one of the two colors that you wish to use. The color that you want to be most evident should be the one that goes on first. Apply the polish, allow it to dry, and apply a second coat.
When the second coat of nail polish is dry, apply the next color, but only put on one coat. Polish all of the fingernails on one hand and then use the plastic wrap to dab at the polish. As you do that, you’ll remove some of the top color, and create the marbling effect. If you’re somewhat slow at polishing your nails, do one or two, apply the Saran Wrap, and then do a couple more.
It’s amazing how you can coordinate your fingernails with your wardrobe when you do the marbling technique. With metallic and pearl-like polishes you can create a sophisticated look; with neon colors you can give a young girl a beautiful set of nails. Experiment with colors and combinations to find ones that you like the most and then do the easy technique any time that you want. After polishing your nails, use a cotton swab and polish remover to take away any paint that has gotten on the skin.
