New Ideas for Unique Glass Bottle Yard Decor

by fat vox

Glass bottles can be recycled, but they can also be reused to create unique yard decor. What was once used to hold olive oil, wine or anything else that comes in a container with a narrow opening can be turned into stunning and highly useful items. They make ideal gifts and craft sale items, and they can be used to beautify just about any outdoor location. Use these creative new ideas for unique glass bottle yard decor, and display something other than plastic, painted concrete or cast resin items.

Create a Row of Bottles on Dowel Rods

Bottles on dowel rods might sound simple and unimpressive, but they are actually quite beautiful, especially when directly touched by the rays of the sun. They glisten and gleam, and they can greatly enhance a garden or yard. Collect bottles in colors of your choice. Even clear ones are lovely. Push sturdy dowel rods into the ground, and place an overturned bottle on each one. Display them in a row at staggering heights to make the greatest visual impact.

Make Unique Glass Bottle Vases for Outdoor Use

A bottle makes a fantastic outdoor yard vase, especially when it is attached to a deck post, fence post or a sturdy stick. Securely attach the bottles with jute twine, and fill each one with flower cuttings and water. It is amazing how simple decor can look incredibly beautiful, especially outdoors.

Create a Colorful Garden Display

If your garden is not colorful enough, add glass bottles in a rainbow of hues. Create a border by turning them upside down in the ground, or make freestanding displays. Plant an old coat rack in the center of the garden, and top each hook with a bottle. Unexpected and eye catching yard decor is often the most impressive.

Make Beautiful Glass Bottle Hummingbird Feeders

A simple glass bottle can be transformed into a sturdy hummingbird feeder with the addition of a glass and rubber feeding tube. The tubes are available in pet stores, and they are typically used in conjunction with water bottles for rodents and other small animals. Buy sizes that will securely fit the bottle openings.

To attract hummingbirds, attach red flat glass pebbles and other colored marbles of your choice. Attach them using strong waterproof adhesive, and hang them with wire. They will beautify the yard by attracting amazing birds, and they will look gorgeous hanging from sturdy branches or poles.
