Olivia Holt is one of the main characters in the Disney Channel original series “I Didn’t Do It.” She plays the lead role of Lindy Watson. She got the acting bug at a very young age. When she was three years old she went to a theater arts camp. There she had found her passion.
Fans of the Disney Channel have seen Holt in the Disney XD show “Kickin’ It” as the only lead female, ‘Kim.’ She was in a Disney Channel movie, “Girl Vs. Monster” as the lead role of Skylar, who was the fearless monster hunter.
She also loves to sing and donate her time at St. Jude Children’s Hospital. Here is my interview with Olivia.
Art Eddy: Can you tell me a bit about your role as Lindy Watson on the new Disney show “I Didn’t Do It?”
Olivia Holt: Yes. Lindy is not only a fraternal twin, but she’s also a very intelligent, determined, passionate young girl. She’s a one upper, but in the best possible way. She’s always trying to be her best. And she adores her friends.
AE: The show is in its first season. You are no stranger to a television set, but was there anything different when you were filming this show?
OH: It took some time to adjust to a new cast and a new crew but not a long time at all. Everyone is so talented and so hardworking and they’ve been nothing but an endless joy to be with every day.
AE: Will there be any special guests the show?
OH: Yes, I’m sure the audience will recognize a familiar Disney face in one of our upcoming episodes.
AE: Did anyone in the cast make you laugh while you were shooting scenes?
OH: Oh, countless times. This cast has incredible comedic timing and their so into making this show the best it can possibly be. I love it.
AE: Besides acting I see that you are a singer as well. Tell me about your music career?
OH: Most people know me from my acting but singing was actually my first love. I’ve been singing ever since I was itty-bitty. And I’ve gotten this incredible opportunity to make singing a career of mine now.
AE: Are there any artists that have influenced you?
OH: Katy Perry is a big influence. You can tell she just loves what she does and she’s a phenomenal performer, too.
AE: I am very happy to see the work you do with St. Jude Children’s Hospital. I am a fan of their work. What made you start working with them?
OH: The hospital is only a few miles away from my hometown so I grew up knowing about St. Jude and their mission to help find cures for diseases such as cancer. Working with them has been nothing but bliss though. I love getting the opportunity to visit the kids at St. Jude whenever I’m in town. They have these big smiles on their faces and so much hope. Really brings a smile to my face as well.
