I have studied many diets but the Gorilla Plan for dieting is really different. Tana Amen, BSN, RN, has created the Omni Diet scientifically designed to lose up to 12 pounds in two weeks.
Instead of counting calories, you simply eat like a gorilla! Gorillas tend to eat mostly vegetables and of course, no processed foods. This doesn’t mean you have to become a vegetarian. It’s a 70% plant based combined with 30% protein diet.
According to Tana, “The high protein diet speeds up weight loss and a plant-based diet assists with preventing and reversing chronic illnesses like diabetes, heart disease, and autoimmune disorders.”
Many of her principals are new and opposite the traditional concepts on reducing.
Tina’s recipes sound like meals in a gourmet restaurant. There’s Bison London Broil, Lentil lamb stew, Roasted Leg of Lamb, Middle Eastern Steak Salad with Tahini dressed Zucchini, Baked Halibut with creamed Spinach Sauce, Mahi Mahi Burger with pineapple salsa and others on her website.
I appreciate the Omni concept of being able to eat more instead of smaller portions. Most doctors usually advise their patients to lose weight for their health and the dieter won’t feel hungry with her diet.
This diet is so flexible; dieters can change their meals daily.
The Omni Diet advises dieters to ditch dairy, sugars, grains, processed foods, alcohol, soy, white potatoes, cereals, corn, ice cream, bread, pasta, farm-raised fish, and much more.
In contrast to the diet books written by laymen, Tana Amen is a RN and is knowledgeable about food and diseases. In addition, Tana works with her husband, Dr. Daniel G. Amen, M.D., New York Times bestselling author, in the Amen Clinics.
