Only Sinners Need Salvation

by fat vox

I am a sinner. I understand that as a sinner, I need a savior. I will try to follow my savior and be like him for the rest of my days on Earth. This is the message that is written in the bible for us to understand.

Most people think that they can govern their own lives and are too smart to believe a bunch of stories where giants fight with men. They believe that as long as you are a good person, that’s enough to live a good life. Some believe in a higher power, but are confused by which version of the message is the “right” one. They don’t go to church because it’s a man-made institution and is as corrupt as any other one. I will admit that one was my way of thinking.

Then some things happened in my life and I lost everything, my health, my home, and my family. I was grieving and made some poor decisions. I’ll admit, I’m still not fully recovered. I didn’t increase my faith until I understood that no matter how “good” I thought I was, I am. just like every other person, a sinner.
I am getting my life in order, one step at a time, and I have formed a stronger faith because of it. I am a writer, so I wrote one article and was planing on doing a series on why you should believe in God, the Son and the Holy Spirit. I found a place that breaks the bible down in a way everyone can understand it. It doesn’t preach religion and it doesn’t give me a weekly pep talk to make me feel better either. What my church does is open the bible and helps me understand the Word.

Understanding the Word of God seems to be hard because only part of the message from God is put out for us to misunderstand it, change it, or just ignore it. The beauty of the whole system is we are given free will to do, or say, or think, what we want. God knows lets each man or woman decide and learn it for ourselves.

God has His standards and the Bible is the book of them. Each law in it, are God’s holy standards and He does not expect us to live up to them on our own. The bible lists all of things we should not be doing for our betterment. Nobody on Earth lives up to them all. After the fall of man, we all are born of mortal suffering, Our mortal condition is our sin carried from one generation to another. God does not want us to suffer and he gives us a solution to our sin.

The salvation of the world is the Word of God. He had 66 books written over the dawn of history to instruct us on how to do it. The misunderstandings come from the fact that people feel like the Word condemns them. That is only half of the story for all have sin and fall short of God. God sent the law for us to understand that we are sinners. Then God sent His son, The Word, and made him flesh to save us from the price of sin.

Jesus went though every trial and tribulation that life has to offer and overcame them. He died, spilled his blood, to overcome the final price of sin, death. Jesus overcame the world and rose up to show us that suffering is the mortal path but death cannot hold his followers. He opened salvation to all people of the world you need Him. Christian means to be like Christ and being like Christ, we too shall have victory over and have eternal life.

I’m a believer and have made an informed decision on my life, I choose to believe. I learn how to take care of my soul, how to live a better life, and to serve others by sharing my faith. I help spread the word by writing and that what a Christian should be doing.

Penn Jillette said, and I’m paraphrasing, that Christians who don’t talk about their beliefs are not worth his respect. Those who think that you are on a path to Hell would call out. If he was standing on a highway and didn’t believe in trucks and on was heading for him, and you could see a truck coming at him, he would hope that you loved him enough to tackle him out of the way.
